I love the Maekar adopts Dunk au. Maybe Dyanna gets to live in this one as Maekar knows what’s going to happen and somehow prevents it. Meaning Aerion has Dunk as an example and his mother and his not heartbroken father as examples so he’s just very intense about his Dunk but not a full blown monster.
Also imagine a full grown Dunk is being hit on by the heir of stormsend. Lyonel gets a shiver down his spine only to turn around and ….. why is every member of the royal family glaring at me???? More than usual?????
Yes! So I was considering Dyanna living in this au but I think this confirms it. I honestly think that canon!Dyanna died from sickness due to childbirth. Maybe Maekar had more midwives this time. Mama Dayne will live and get to give cuddles to ALL her babies!
Aerion is very obsessive in most universes so I decided to change it a bit. Aerion and Dunk really are close in age with really only a year difference between them so I like to think that it took a bit for him to warm up to Dunk but not too long. Aerion knows that this giant boy is supposed to be just a lowly squire but he isn’t much older than him and he’s already strong enough/old enough to squire for his father. This leads to basically Aerion becoming jealous of Dunk for his parents attention then jealous over not being around Dunk after he saves him from drowning in the river. Aerion gets the idea to be closer to his Dunk that he needs to be blood adopted aka Aerion does a Valyrian blood ritual where he is Dunk’s blood brother but calls himself his twin.
Aerion is very proud of his older twin brother. They will be the next Hammer and Anvil NOT Valarr.
Lyonel is very smitten with the non-Targaryen but maybe Targaryen? Squire/Knight that follows the royal family around or is it the other way around? Duncan is the giant’s name and he makes Lyonel’s heart feel like thunder. He only got to dance with him once before the damn dragons dragged him back to their pavilion. Lyonel isn’t worried though because he knows that eventually all baby dragons leave the nest and he’ll be waiting.
