Tossing and Turning: What parts of the writing process are you most comfortable with? Least?

i am absolutely most comfortable in the planning stage, and tend to spend WAY too much time there. outlining? i could do it forever. let me write a detailed outline and hand it off to a different iteration of myself to actually write the story LOL. i don’t know what i’d say for least comfortable...maybe revision? i haven’t had to do a whole lot of really serious revision, and that’s something i’ve always had a resistance to, which i’d really like to work past!

Thirsty: How do you feel about the advice “Write the story you want to read”?

i wholeheartedly agree! though i think you shouldn’t restrict yourself to only stories you want to read, if that makes any sense? like, hopefully, whatever it is you’re writing at least becomes something that you’d want to read? sometimes it’s only through exposure to new things that we realize we have latent interests that we weren’t previously aware of! in general though, i definitely think if there’s a story that you want to read and it doesn’t exist, frickin DO THAT STORY!

Counting Sheep: How long have you been writing?

hmm. a LONG time. as long as i can remember, honestly. i’ve always loved telling stories and the sort of release you get when you finish a really good book is something i can trace back to age 5 or so, i think?? i didn’t start seriously writing until the end of high school, which is when i realized fanfiction was a serious artform and i didn’t have to like...hide that i was partaking in fandom culture?? anyway, i guess that’s a pretty typical answer, but it really has been a lifelong sort of activity for me!

happy STS!! what's your favorite part of writing your WIPs? what do you like most about doing worldbuilding from scratch?

happy sts!! ♥ my favourite part is when the characters start to have a mind of their own and I feel like I’m just channeling them rather than actively writing or creating... it’s the best.

I like worldbuilding from scratch because I have complete creative liberty. I can choose to include or not include aspects of our current world, and I can also create my own! I write in a very character-based manner so it’s fun being able to create a world that would be a suitable home for my characters!

22. Do you reread your old works? How do you feel about them?

i try not to read anything that's older than a year or two but thats mostly because i don't have very much old writing in my phone and id have to find it in notebooks and stuff

25. What part of writing is the most fun?

figuring out how characters' personalities bounce off each other and how they would interact!! also descriptions when i have a really vivid picture and feeling in my head!!
