53 days since the military junta staged a coup in Myanmar. Protests have been going on. Many lives have been lost. We do not and cannot accept the military junta ruling our country and the reckless acts of the police and the soldiers whom we would only refer to as terrorists.
You know what? We have to win this battle. This should only be a win-win situation. If we give up, all the lives lost and all the families taken apart would be for nothing. All those sacrifices made and souls broken would be for nothing. That’s why we need to win. We need democracy. We will continue to fight against this military dictatorship in every way possible. We hope the world won’t ignore us.
Up until now, more than 250 deaths are confirmed. Who knows how many innocent citizens lost their lives without any media coverage. The worst case is probably the killing of a seven year old girl on the 23rd. She was just a small child. Shouldn’t this concern you? She was in her own house when the terrorists shot her from the street. Even our homes aren’t safe anymore.
While writing this, I just saw countless cars with soldiers on them holding guns. They were shooting randomly along the way. One hero has fallen today, where I live.
It’s been ten days since they cut off the mobile internet connections. Only some wifi networks are available. You have no ideas the lengths we travelled to be able to get accessed to all the information, to be able to tell the world what’s going on. I’m online now. But I might not be tomorrow. When we are silent, it doesn’t mean we have given in. It would just mean the military junta, the terrorist group has taken away our freedom of speech.
We won’t ask for much. Just... please help us continue to spread awareness about this situation. We have started our fight and we can’t stop now. A reblog or any spreading of information would mean a lot to us.
