yeah I was definitely thinking sub alpha for jumper bc I really like that dynamic.
for f/w though I definitely agree with alpha fein and beta couri and omega jumper it fits so well. Jumper would get so pissed off at her heats bc its something out of her control which really frustrates her. I also sort of imagine couriway training fein to have his ruts be more controlled both as a submission thing and to prevent it messing up his work.
If flame/wick was omegaverse then first of all, Feinberg and Jumper would have a closer relationship off the bat from Couri assigning Fein to be Jumper's heat partner (although in my head Couri takes her on as a student before she presents it ultimately doesn't matter, I just want to preserve the fact that she loses her virginity to Feinberg bc that little detail is special to me) – though he doesn't let Jumper help Fein with his ruts, and does that himself. Feinberg's ruts would be shorter anyways with a beta partner, since there are no omega pheromones to exacerbate the symptoms, and that would suit them in terms of cold practicality.
The whole point of Couri's boundary where he won't let Jumper touch his dick is because he doesn't want his own sexual pleasure to be a part of his power over her, or for Jumper to feel like she owes him sex just because she belongs to him; these issues would only be more present if she was an omega, so I don't see why that would change. Even regarding her heat, there's obviously the little problem of his refractory period as a beta (which heat pheromones would handily cancel out for an alpha like Feinberg), but he also doesn't exactly have a knot, so even should he be helping her with her cycle he wouldn't be obliged to fuck her. They could get by with toys, of course, if she really doesn't want to have sex with Fein (inflatable knotted dildos are a classic solution), especially while Fein's still acting cold towards her at the beginning of her apprenticeship – but he'd warm up to her faster in this universe so she doesn't have to go too many cycles without an alpha heat companion.
Fein and Jumper's cycles never line up because obv Fein and Couri are mates, complete with the biting and everything, so Fein doesn't have to worry about losing control to a rut during one of Jumper's heats (he gets psuedo-rut stuff from her pheromones, sure, but he has good self-discipline). When Jumper and Minute start fucking nobody bats an eye when Jumper picks him to be her heat partner rather than Fein, but Minute has to go through a longggg process of sucking up to Couri and Fein before they let Jumper be his companion for one of his ruts.
I actually imagine that Jumper would love being an omega, personally. Although heats obviously annoy her because they're impractical and take her out of the field for several days, she probably does control them to some extent with regulators and suppressants. Additionally, being publicly an omega only means she's even more underestimated, which suits her well because she dislikes being seen as a threat (particularly when she actually is one). f/w!Jumper doesn't really care about being sexualized or objectified because she kind of... already kinda sees herself as an object......? and her enemies finding her sexually attractive is a weakness on their part, and leverage that she can take advantage of. Being seen as pretty, harmless, and occasionally flirtatious is part of the mask she already wears, all the better to get close to people with, and I bet Couri trains her to control her scent not to actual reveal how she feels so that she can manipulate people even better <3 by smelling good <3
Also even in full rut, Fein is a service top who whines for Couri's attention and gets ridden into the mattress.
