Well two funny things (funny to me) happened during my workout tonight. First my mom called during my easy warm up on the MTB. I answered it so I didn't have to call back later. I put the phone on speaker and chatted with her for about 5 minutes. I managed to make it up one of my nemesis hills without stopping while holding the phone and gripping the handles. Mom had no clue I was even riding. When I reached the technical stuff, slightly out of breath from a couple climbs, I told her I had to go because I was in the middle of a ride. 😜 Tonight's ride involved 3 minute intervals "at the LOWEST CADANCE you can sustain. PUSH HARD ON THE PEDALS". I'm not sure if coach meant for me to do this workout on the MTB but I did. Low cadence going up hill on technical trails equals almost falling backwards a few times after getting slowed down by obstacles and being unable to crank down hard enough to get going again. I was dangerously hilarious out there with a few close calls that ended with me grabbing tree branches or whatever I could, holding on for dear life!
