I am a “Catholic, but” and I don’t care.

I am a Catholic, but I am Pro-Choice. I may not agree to abortion, but I will not stop a woman from having an abortion.

I am a Catholic, but I do not believe that having premarital sex is a sin. It may be a sin, but sins are meant to be forgiven, but again, your body and you can do what you want with your body.

I am a Catholic, but I support homosexual marriages. If it’s not hurting you, then why does it matter? We preach about love, so they should have the same rights to love as well.

I am a Catholic and I like being Catholic, but that doesn’t meant I have to agree with what my priest preaches or what this religion says. I say my prayers and i believe in the Holy Trinity. I’m a church girl that has her own set of values, but I’ll never stop believing in God.

I don’t like arguing on Facebook, so I just put my thoughts here.

Addiction is a disease. It is a chemical imbalance in your brain, and yes, I understand arguments against it, but I still do not agree. There are many factors that are not being considered when saying addiction is not a disease. If you believe it is not a disease, and you see a friend in trouble but don’t try to help them when they seek you for personal help, then aren’t you being a bad friend? When they finally have the courage to ask for help, but then are turned away, that is exactly why people WON’T ask for help. It is a disease, and it is just as serious as other diseases. Why shouldn’t their lives matter too? If there is a chance for anyone to get better, then I’m all for them being alive. But addiction is only a small category of illnesses that have stigma today. Break the stigma. If someone needs help, then get them help. Don’t judge them for their life choices or for something they cannot help.
