So, I found a semi-old computer that wouldn't turn on... Well, I vacuumed out the motherboard and cleaned a few parts inside of it until there was little to no dust in it, and now it works perfectly fine, as if it wasn't a "dead" computer before.

Showing Initiative: Pitch an Idea!

As the job market remains ever-evolving and increasingly competitive, internships are meant to serve as much more than summer-long desk jobs. In the same vein, supervisors (and potentially future references and/or employers) are looking to see a contributor who will do more than simply complete the tasks given to them. Don’t be afraid to observe, brainstorm on your own time, and pitch ideas. This will set you apart!

One of my most meaningful and challenging tasks during my PR agency internship this summer was compiling my own pitch – a business pitch, that is...

...If a contributor as new and inexperienced – yet as fresh and enthusiastic – as an intern can show an understanding for the following:

what the organization already has,

what the organization could really benefit from, and

what the organization is capable of enacting

…then the supervisor in question won’t be able to look away from your GREAT IDEA.
