“ten low level villains have broken out of the local prison and are running amok in the city--”
as citizens were being warned to stay within their homes until the criminals have been apprehended, a city wide black out cut off the announcement. the blackout appears to have been caused by an electrical quirked escapee from the aforementioned group. it is unknown when the cities electricity will return and when the dangerous villains will be caught and stop terrorising the citizens of seoul.
it is believed possible that an older villain who has been on the scenes for many a year now, absolute zero, may be involved in helping the ten criminals in their escape!
the streets for now are flooded with heroes doing their best to try and contain panic as well as keep civilians safe whilst they head home, or help to look for the escaped criminals. with the cut off of the announcement though, nobody knows quite how to react, and heroes are struggling to manage the increasing unrest within the citizens.
hello members and welcome to our first event! this event will be running for a week ( from the 16th to the 24th ) out of character though will only take place over a twenty-four period in character.
ten villains have escaped prison and caused a city wide blackout. the local hero commission had been announcing how everyone should react to the situation but was cut off when the blackout occurred. meaning that there has been no guidance on how the citizens of seoul should react to the situation.
hero agencies do not know if they should be acting to apprehend the escaped villains or protecting the civilians, this may lead to certain agencies or heroes going rogue and deciding for themselves how to best react.
vigilantes are likely to pick up the slack that heroes can’t in a situation like this due to heroes being held back my legislation and red tape.
due to the blackout the security at u.y is also down leaving the school wide open and unprotected. many of the students unable to get in contact with teachers from their dorms because of phone services being cut out. those without provisional hero licences may be subject to punishment if they use their quirks even in self defence during the blackout.
villains though are likely rejoicing at a day where their own have come free and the blackout has caused the perfect situation for getting away with many illegal deeds without fear of consequence.
whilst taking part in this event, please use the tag ‘myheroblackout’ for any closed or open starters!
when he woke up, like he had done so every other day, he was plagued with the usual ominous premonition of today was going to be too troublesome. however, whilst this always was true in the end, the extent of how absolutely tiring it will become was never gauged. the only time he uselessly pray to a heaven he had no belief in was when he closed his eyes and murmur “at least make it 90% peaceful.”
alas. there seemed to be a miscommunication in his prayer. rather than 90% peaceful, it was the opposite and now he found himself wandering around the dark to avoid more panicked children, or the cocky ones thinking this was the time to shine, or anyone crying. it was a huge mess, annoying and too loud for his tastes. lips pulled back to a distasteful sneer, he puts on his beanie and shoved his blue locks in. can’t let his one defining trait catch the eye of someone unsavory.
through this mindless meandering, though, he managed to spot a familiar face alone. well, hard to not notice it, even in the dark, when it got ruined not too long ago. he didn’t know the details, but apparently being the kid’s senior intern meant he had to look out for the kid. not only that, but it also meant that if something happens to the other again, the agency would ask him. moreover, if something happens to the kid, he just knew they were going to have to search for him and that of course he’d be involved. in the end it all boils down to: leaving the kid alone in somewhere dangerous may be more troublesome than sticking with him.
letting out a hefty sigh, haneul finally approached another student in the chaos. walking with sluggish steps that didn’t match the wild discord of the scenario, heplaced himself in front of the other and called out. “hey, kid, you doing okay there?”
let it be known that choi haneul may be a rescue hero, but if there’s no need to put effort into proper consolation then so he shall default to his usual monotonous, succinct drawl.
"i bet you’re loving this, hm? the team at it’s best. it’s just like old times." @mhjasper
seraphina couldn’t say this was where she’d expected to spend her night, but after the news hit her of the escapees.. it was probably inevitable that she’d be called in by her former company. that being said, at some point she’d probably have to make her rounds to school, and of course the sisterhood. that was for her to know though.
there was a lot a villain could get up to when the night was like this. lovely.
“at it’s best? ah, you mean scrambling in confusion for any collective bit of information that any of us might happen to know, whilst we all hopelessly search for an answer to our current problem--“ she practically sang, legs kicked up onto the table as the words danced playfully off her tongue. wasn’t like she was wrong though, even her old company was stuck on what to do. “i like the old times when it was peaceful, now this place relies to much on what i can provide. and i’m already being pulled six ways from sunday by everyone possible. take the advice to never have three jobs at once, however fun it is to run your own empire.“
the fox sighed for a moment then, before her signature smirk was back on her lips, the small hint of fangs showing. “regardless, i am loving this. chaos is entertaining, is it not?”
that's as far as the announcement on the screen goes before the surroundings drop into pitch black. every citizen around her screams in terror; scrambles around aimlessly in the dark in search of safety. it's absolute chaos, but riyu stays frozen on her spot, clutching on her handbag strap so hard that her knuckles match the shade of white chalk.
this was supposed to be her day off. this was supposed to be the day well spent on designer bags and good rounds of grounded coffee after a massage and good chat at the local parlor. not this. not a villain attack. not knowing that danger is potentially seconds away from swooping her off her feet and providing her a nightmare that would last a lifetime.
her brain has already short circuited, but her legs move on their own. she flinches every two seconds when someone skedaddles past a centimetre too close to her and bites back a frightened whimper every time a loud crash bounces across her eardrums. memories of the past flash across her eyelids and play like a horror movie — blinding her off rationality until she realizes seconds too late that she's run off into a lone alleyway in the dark. she can hear incoming footsteps amidst her growing panic.
the snakes upon her hair react to her emotions. when she's calm, the snakes are calm. when she isn't, then so are they. and at this point in time — she's far from relaxed. the snakes trash about and stand hostile around her head, hissing indignantly at the direction of footsteps as she cowers in fear, digging her face into the heels of her palms as she scrambles to find her voice.
"s-stay away!" she cries out, the trepidation heavy in her system. "or i'll hurt you, you hear me!?"
