Reflections on the First Day of Memorial Day Weekend 2016: I realize--not without resisting resignation--that some people in my life, or that used to be in my life, have been so emotionally damaged that it becomes almost imposible for me to think of their last act of genuine spontaneous affection. Nonetheless, they've succeeded at becoming masters of deception. I'm no longer surprised by the twists and turns of life. Things are never what they seem to be, especially when it comes to interpersonal relationships. Yet, I have to agree with Bob Miglani when he said, "Life is just the way it is supposed to be: unpredictable, good, bad, ugly, and great, all rolled up into one incredibly short experience."
