If I could do one thing I would go back in time to 1491, and I would stand on the great plains of my ancestral homeland teaming with antelope, bison, elk, wolves, and bears. I would look out across the land and see no fences, no buildings, and embrace the vast emptiness of a world I always dreamed of but could never touch because it was a world that didn't exist anymore. It was a world 500 years removed from me. The world my people always looked for in whiskey bottles and crack pipes. This distant world that I long for is a world of the past but it's all I ever wanted and all I can never have. I live in country that claims to be the country of freedom but from the moment I was born to the moment I die neither I nor my people will ever have the freedom to live the life we once lived, to be trully free as we once were.

My one wish

I often look around at negativity, unhappy people and attitudes, anger, destruction and wish for them, that they could see what I see. 

Over the last year I have begun to see the world in a different way, its not what the world can do for me, its what I can do for the world. A mix of travelling and maturity has given me a new vision that involves going out of your way each day to make people feel good. Although its all been said before: smile at a stranger on the street, treat others how you want to be treated etc, how many people actually do this. When I look around I see people with their heads down looking at their phone, rushing to get home and forgetting to look at the world. How much of life is going by when people are always texting, or tracking facebook, instagram, twitter, foursquare, linkd in, and even tumblr. 

I propose this for myself as my new years resolution.

1) Try to walk as much as I can, and when I do look around at the world and take it all in

2) Make eye contact with people and smile

3) Listen to friends and others, and I mean really listen

4) Remember important events in my family and friends lives and always remember to ask about them

5) Try very hard to not to take part in any talking behind backs

6) Speak and think with positively and in turn, positive things will come my way

7) Immerse myself with positive, loving and outgoing people

8) Do what I want, if I am doing something that makes me unhappy, Stop.

9) Be with some one who brings out the best in you, not the stress in you

10) Sponsor a child and give to those in need when I can

11) Make the world a better place by starting with yourself 

All i really want is for others to feel the compassion for others that I feel. There is no need in making another soul unhappy, and there is no such thing as ' so and so did it first so they deserve it'.

One of the only things I could ever wish for is for someone to tell me that they could never love someone as much as they love me. That they couldn't live without me. That they couldn't breathe.

Just one chance?

All that I ask for is one chance. One chance to prove to you that I love you. One chance to see if we could ever go further. One chance to be with you alone, so we could talk and get to know each other better. Just one chance is all I ask.
