Pathetic wet beast, as they call it?
Gray bat (Myotis grisescens) colony in Tennessee, U.S.
Alan Cressler
Found a bat indoors at work. I gave him some water and now he's sleeping in a shoe box with a pillowcase. Animal control was already closed by the time I had the chance to call them. I'll either let him go tonight if he's feeling better or I'll call animal control in the morning.

Bats are the only flying mammals and sticks to the eastern United States. When they give birth to the pup, the female nourishes them with milk. Gray bats roost, breed, rear young and hibernate in caves located near bodies of water year round. Its diet consists predominantly of insects. Unlike other bats their wing membrane attaches to the ankle instead of the toe and like other bats communicate by echolocution - making high-frequency noises which bounce off objects to show location.
