I'm late in posting pics... because I take lots.. I had technical difficulties logging onto Concert Window to watch @mysilentbravery 's online concert that night on Sept.26th or 28th if I remember correctly! Watching the show from my phone.. hooked a speaker to it... and chatting in the chat text box/thread! Laptop won't stream the show! Proof that I was watching online! My Silent Bravery

My Silent Bravery’s Matthew Wade knows about overcoming obstacles. The band’s uplifting music reflects the ideology of “paying it forward” and propagating positive messages.

Wade notes that “most of my inspiration [for writing songs] comes from life experience.” When he was 21, Wade was traveling in Australia, when he suffered from a sports injury, injuring his neck and back. “Having been very active and social in life prior to the injury, I never had really faced significant physical and subsequent emotional trauma like that before. I started searching for answers of why this was happening to me? The injury opened the door to spirituality; I realized I wanted to become a better person and a more sharing individual. Through personal work and transformation, I learned the importance of “paying it forward” and now I feel one of my missions in life is to help inspire others to do the same through my music.”

“My Silent Bravery” got its name from a combination of having performed under the same initials in prior bands, as well as the notion that the name symbolizes inner strengh, perseverance and persistance. It is these concepts that shape the music the band creates. Wade described his song-writing process, which typically stems around a chord progression; he then builds the melody around the chord progression, and layers the lyrics on top: “It’s like putting puzzle pieces together but it’s a great feeling when the puzzle is completed.”

Wade points to musical inspirations such as Bob Marley and John Mayer, amongst others, and describes his music as “acoustic driven pop/rock with a positive message,” that aims to inspire and motive others to overcome challenges in life. As such, each song has its own story and inspiration. “I hope listeners will connect with the story and be drawn into it and relate emotionally and how it applies in their own lives.”

My Silent Bravery recently released Diamond from Coal, which is described as a continuation of where the last record left off, mixed with newer elements, genres and styles fans have not heard before, designed to “keep the listener engaged from start to finish.” Wade explains, “I'm a fan of getting a full body of work -- not just a piece of it. It's like a book, you have multiple chapters and with only one of them you aren't getting the whole picture. Diamond from Coal comes from a lyric in one of my new songs called “Stop and Go”. The idea is that a diamond is formed when there’s enough pressure that’s put on coal. For me the pressure is the hard work and persistence that has gone into chasing my musical dreams as a solo independent artist. The music is hopefully the diamond. The title is symbolic and meaningful to me as I think it’s a nice combination of my spiritual side mixed with my artistic side.”

Wade is currently taking the band on the road to promote the latest record. He reveals that fans can expect a mix of the band’s favorites, including new songs like “Amazing,” “P.O.V.”, and “On My Side,” as well as a few surprises: “ I’ll usually throw in an interesting cover or two, something fans might not expect -- I may do a cover of an old school rap song, which is very different from what I do as an artist releasing original pop/rock music. I think it makes it fun and I try to be as interactive as I can. From the first song, I hope fans are very engaged and that they will walk away inspired.”
