Someone told me they "don't see color" and I was "sad" because I identify as a black woman... I feel sad for her because she was taught not to celebrate differences and appreciate the beauty of the human race. My Blackness and my Womanhood are my immediate signifiers and I'm proud to be both! When we stop turning a colorblind eye to our reality, we can move forward.
