Today’s lunch ride showed me that I’ve always preferred groomed runs to moguls. Reminds me that while at my home mountain of Heavenly (in the 90s), I mainly skied the single blacks and only maybe a handful of times skied Mott Canyon (double black). Though, I did Ski and Snowboard Kirkwood’s “The Wall”, and that was the first time I ever skied a chute. If I want to explore steeps, chutes, or most double blacks (aka my eyeballing Squaw’s KT-22 chair), I definitely need to practice more on the moguls on no powder days like today.
