Buffy loved her summers with her dad. She never got to see him much, and when she was younger, she didn’t understand why. But now that she was in college, she knew it was the vampire thing.

He didn’t know anything about them, of course, but people could feel the otherness in her, and it scared a lot of them away.

She’d been staying at her father’s lake house with him and his new wife—something she wasn’t a fan of—but any time with her dad was good.

One night, walking around the lake, she felt it: a vampire was near.

She snuck up on the house and looked through the window. What she saw was definitely a vampire—but not just any vampire. A good-looking one, at that.

She had been known to date vampires. Angel was her ex and all that. But could she really let the hotness of a vampire decide if he should die?
