Idk if you know tangled the series but one of raps' friends has a villain arc in the last season and the relationship between the two then is kinda what I imagine Tubbo's and Tommy's to be in the protege au.
Yeah, I’m aware of some story beats of that show through pop culture osmosis.
I mean in theory the conflict is similar - based on manipulation and misunderstanding. But Tommy didn’t betray Tubbo and chose to leave - he was exiled. There’s a big difference in dynamic because of that. Tommy thinks that his friends abandoned him on purpose, especially Tubbo, who hasn’t even visited his friend after exiling him. [Big Bad of S3], while feeling betrayed, left of their own volition, while Rapunzel purposefully tried to reestablish the relationship.
