WHAT'S BEEN GOING ON WITH ME
Hullo!
So you've probably noticed that I've been posting more regularly lately. It's been a hectic couple of weeks for me, to say the least. I've tried to make this post as short as possible explaining my absence and what's been going on in my life :-)
Two weeks ago I had my end of year exams, and the week after I had transition to year 11 (the second last year of school were I live). I was so extremely stressed and overwhelmed! Then, I found out on the monday of year 11 transition I had to have my first cortisone in injection in my shoulder for my injury. I had a super bad reaction to it. 9/10 people don't react, but I did - just my luck aha! I took medication which unbeknownst to me at the time, was 'drowsy'. I spent the next day completely out of it, I tried going to school, gave up after an hour came home and slept for five.
It's been a ridiculously stressful few weeks for me, hence why I chose to have a short break from this blog. But I'm mostly all good now! I had the injection for my other shoulder earlier this week and, luckily, have got new medication to prevent an allergic reaction. My physio thinks possibly by the end of January I will be able to swim again! Until then, though, I can only do 3 x 1 hr sessions a week on kick (wahhh)
Because of everything that's been going on, injections and whatnot, I haven't been to swimming in over three weeks! And godamn it I've been eating terribly and that, coupled with no exercise, has seen me gain around 5kg.
I've tried not to beat myself up about it, as I'm sure the weight will slide off once I get back into the pool, but this whole situation just sucks. However, it has made me even more determined to get back into swimming. This is the prime opportunity for me to spend time in the gym and seriously thinking about my nutrition, while I do my rehab.
I have SO MANY updates planned for my blog over the next few weeks. I'm on holidays now, so I have a tonne of extra time I can dedicate to this blog. I'm also super excited to announce something in the next few days. I received an email from an exciting new online sports and social networking website, and I've some awesome news + an article about this company I'm currently working on. I'm so excited because it's the first time I've ever been approached by a company like this to help share their work.
Get set for an exciting week!!
-Dee
