ok hi hello so i rate every game i play on a thumbs scale. you got. the classic thumbs up 👍. you got the good ol' thumbs down 👎. and then you have a nice lil thumb-to-the-side, which i imperfectly convey through this fist 🤜 emoji. you could also, if you wanted, think of this as a sort of 3-star system? that's not what it is, but it's also not dissimilar. ANYWAY none of my ratings are set in stone forever and ever; when i do my big Year End list where i write about all the games i played their ratings will often change from how i rated them months ago. such is life. ALSO all my ratings are based off of my own personal feelings and interpretations and such <3 it's all subjective, baby!!! SO. all that being said. out of 40 games i played this year, i only gave 5 the full thumbs down! i generally try to not play games i don't think i will like, BUT sometimes games disappoint me and also due to Book Club i will occasionally play a game that i would simply never pick for myself to play. and sometimes those games are bangers and sometimes they are wildly stinky and not to my taste whatsoever.

but i would definitely recommend my top 5, BUT not for everyone. Slow Damage REALLY GOOD but absolutely not for most people. if you need content warnings, you definitely need to check those before playing. Pentiment? FOR EVERYONE. well. not FOR everyone but it is so fantastic, it's genuinely unlike anything i have ever played?? and that's not entirely true because whatever, it's not a brand new format but ALSO. FUCK IT"S UNLIKE ANYTHING I"VE PLAYED and it's good and even if it's not Your Thing you should play it!!!!!!!!!! Signalis also REALLY GOOD and you should play it...... that was someone else's Book Club pick and i'm so glad it forced me to play it. The Chrono Jotter wins worst name for rly good game award...... but it IS really good and i really want more people to play it (crying emoji)..... Ran Ibuki i love you.... Dead Letter Dept. is another not for everyone; it is SO FUN but i just really love typing... typing games my friends...... vibes and content of the game fun and good but also i just love typinggggg.... clickity clack.... AND DREAMBOUND........ god this one is so. i cannot exactly recommend it. it desperately needs another round of copyediting..... i dont want to be mean but it could also use ummm. it could use some being better. BUT THAT SAID IT HAUNTS ME. fuckkkkk it's got ingredience.......

i did not replay any single player games last year, other than putting more time into games like slay the spire and dead estate and such. this year i wanna replay more stuff! like teenage exocolonist, analogue: a hate story, yuppie psycho, maybe crosscode...... we'll see! anywayyy peace and love on planet earth, video games are really fun and i like them a lot ✌️

btw some of you are playing the wrong games. you are playing the games you like and you are enjoying them when actually you SHOULD be playing the games that i like and. you should enjoy them also
