"I have a contract only the first talon can fulfill." he murmured leaning over to kiss him slowly. "The target is a bed located in an apartment across town. The contracts last for two days and two nights." He murmured against his skin. "Is that so?" His husband rumbled gently cupping his chin and claiming a kiss.

"Hm yes, I don't want to sleep without you anymore." He grabbed Lucanis' hand pulling him from a chair with a tug. "Are you taking the blanket with us mio amor?" His lips quirked into a smirk and Teigue leaned in pressing a soft kiss to them. "Yes mio vita." he hummed. Their hands intertwined as they left the Villa from the balcony.

The sun long set, and the stars glittered on the water as they made their way into town, strolling along the rooftops until they found the apartment. Lucanis dropped down onto balcony first before reaching up and pulling him down. "Charmer~" He pushed up on his toes giving his husband a kiss. Slipping into the apartment his shoulders relaxed and Teigue cast his blanket over on the bed. Reaching into his bag he pulled out a book. Shedding the clothes he laid on the bed, it did not take long for his talon to join him. He shifted so he was laying on Lucanis' chest a soft hum slipped through his lips as he started reading from the book for Luca, whose fingers combed through his hair. Slowly his breathing evened and Teigue closed the book curling against his husband, as his arms wrapped around him. Sleep creeping in as he closed his own eyes.

Solas' pupils were wide, he had indulged and was still soaking in the magic of the ball. He watched as his lover grabbed a frilly little cake breaking it into two halves. The first half sandwiched between long fingers and offered to him. His lips split into a grin as he took the half off the cake and Solas' fingers into his mouth licking them clean.

"Fel--" The tips of his ears turned scarlet as those pupils darkened those pale silver eyes. "Vhenan.." He groaned softly "Do you want to know or do you wish me to take you home?" He offered Solas a huff but pulled away, pressing a kiss to his cheek before washing down the tiny cake half with more wine.

"Here I thought I'd add to the heady blend of the evening but very well for the sake of my curiosity I will behave." He feigned a pout leaning against the taller elvhen. Fingers and cupped his chin turning his head to where a group of priestesses from Mythal's complex danced. "Which one?" He grumbled slightly impatiently.

"Look for the reflection of her spirit, opalescent and towards the center." Felassan followed the directions, a dress spun from the finest silk dyed to mirror the stars above clung to the petite priestess' curves, long fiery hair trailed down her back like a cape. As she spun and laughed the song echoed strains of hope. Mythal's senior priestess, daughter of the moons. Looking up at his Vhenan he could see the blush, and the puppy like look on his face. Reaching up he adjusted the wolf skull that held his hair back.

"You really do like her don't you..I can't blame you." He squeezed Solas' hand with chuckle. "I did not think Mythal capable of fostering Hope as vivid as that, regardless go ask her to dance." He made a gentle shooing motion.

"Felassan, I do--" He leveled a gaze at his friend and lover. "Solas, Vhenan if you do not go ask her to dance, I will and if something comes of the evening. You will be tied up and get to watch for the next hundred years." He grinned watching the reluctant elvhen sulk off to approach the priestesses. Wisdom, Purpose, and Hope it could be a fine triad for the ages he mused sipping his wine.

Surely they did not mean the Mother's wolf, He Who Hunts Alone. His steps hastening he made his way to the courtyard where his guard trained. Standing there in gleaming golden armor was the sentinel that personally travelled with the Mother's retinue. His heart sped up, and blood moved faster. Yet the song silenced in his ears and the world seemed to still as the man spoke.

"Prepare your men for a presentation. The Wolf has called for all the Mother's Sentinels to be presented." Such presentations were days. the world faded into the monotones of grey and white. He and his people maintained the presentation formation. His eyes closed as he listened to the surrounding around him. Nothing had changed until, silver armor appeared and the very song reverberated around him. "This one. Please inform the Mother I have made my decision." From that moment on, his life had changed. He had been given a week to pack what belongings he had to join the Wolf, Solas was what he had introduce himself as.

"Felassan, A slow arrow." The name he had chosen for himself, purred from the lips of the man he had slowly started falling for. His cheeks burned under the praise, and he craved catching the older elf's eye. They trained in the early mornings when the song was faint, and when it grew louder they spoke for hours about the games of the gods, and the politics of the court, and as the song quieted for the evening they watched the stars together. As time went on he was the arrow the wolf pointed to a target, and slow and precisely each target fell into heel or under them both.

Hope has joined us, a priestess of the Mother. The announcement had echoed through the song as he and Solas stood waiting to see her procession. They had been his redemption, a freed devotion He worshipped them both by day and night. They were the stars and moon that he hunted to. The song that he found his way to. They had all been happy. Yet even as He and Solas stoked the fires of Fen'harel's rebellion the first torch dropped on that pyre had been the harming of Evuniala by Andruil and Ghilan'nain. They still fought the titans and sister turned against their own kin for the sake of the hunt into the long night. Mythal had stripped her of the cursed armor yet the damage had been done by inaction to punish the goddess and her priestess. A moment that doomed the rebellion.

Devotion but to who...the people They had redeemed his purpose and now, a sob tore through his throat as despair and grief filled him. Fire crackled around the edges of the crater. They were gone, his former comrades took her away, and Solas had kept him from the plan. His fingers tightened around the damned dagger as a howl of anguish left his lips. The fire grew and his chest heaved with each shallow breath. They had been his purpose, now who could he give it to? Arlathan was shattered under the Human Tribes, and the people dazed and confused had scattered to the wind. But he could honor both his loves, safeguarding the people, bringing them back to the wholeness they had been.

She was smart, like him and he had to keep her safe from herself. It had been millennia, civilizations rose and fell. Empires expanded and collapsed. Wars waged, plains burned, and the God's thralls scarred the land. Yet in it all. Hope. Her name was Briala, young and foolish in love with someone so much further above her. Much like Solas had been. It blinded her to atrocity after atrocity. His heart tightened as he closed his eyes and the familiar smoke surrounded him. He knew what his old friend had asked of him. The words he had carefully practiced left his lips as he tried to reason with him. Never once turning to face him, after all he failed and knew what was coming. If he had faced Solas the plunge from wisdom to pride...no he would not do that so he stared a head of him, salt burning his eyes as his tears stained his cheeks. The scream died on his lips as it forced him from the fade, the searing pain sent him to the ground as devotion was frozen away. Only left with his sorrow.

They were his Ruin, who had they been? There was only Sorrow. The pain, there had been pain he thought. It had turned his dark hair silver much like the moon hanging above him. His eyes were dull and golden much like the sentinels who fully gave themselves to the Mother by drinking of the Well. His feet were his guides as he wandered familiar yet unfamiliar woods. Never quite able to sleep. He did not know how long it had been. He felt a hand grasp his shoulder. "Felassan?" the voice whispered, green eyes familiar yet he could not place where. No there was no slow arrow. "Abelas." he corrected quietly his throat raw. He had failed them both. Who they were he could not remember. Yet he was home in the little rural temple he had been plucked from.

They had been his redemption and now they were his ruin and all that was left was Abelas, sorrow.

Pulling the collar of his jacket up, he waited until he could no longer hear their voices. Pushing off the statue he made his way up the stairs.

Lights filtered into his line of sight and he paused looking towards the wall with a soft sigh, bowing his head. "Lux in aeternum, may you find peace always beloved." His voice barely whispered yet raw from unshed tears of the day. Turning back towards the entrance of the chapel he quietly let himself.

Praying to Silence for the souls lost and would be lost didn't seem right. It was a blighted dragon and his decision after all. They were mostly worshippers of Andraste too from what he understood. His boots squeaked along the polished stone as he made his way to a pew. He mimicked the behaviors he had seen of friends more devoted to her than he could ever claim to be.

His shoulders tightened as he stayed kneeling, though a hand fell to a familiar abyss soaked dagger. A rustle of robes, and his eyes narrows as someone entered the pew.

"Let me join you?" For once. It was unsaid and his hand fell away from his dagger as he met those too teal eyes. "I don't know what I am doing." he admitted weakly and there was a warm reassurance. "It differs." He offered. Admittedly as much as Athras had hoped to do this alone, it was comforting that Ashur had found him even here. The one place he didn't go aside from work. He slowly started again and on the second verse his heart joined in with him a hand held out. He took it squeezing it as salt burned his eyes.

It had been longer and at some point he leaned against Ashur, as complicated as it all was, he was familiar. "The sun's coming up Athras, tomorrow will be a better day. Why don't you go rest in the apartment, Benefaris misses you." He might have had a quip but the idea of curling up in a familiar bed, and with Ashur's hound...it did make things feel a little more in his realm of problem solving.

"...maybe you can come check on me after services..." he offered to Ashur weakly, rising catching the concerned look and very quiet. I will.

Stepping out onto the throughfare he could see the sun rising. Dawn had come.

Though that meant very little with their shared training, another step and he squinted at the rugs trying to find footprints. Another step and he pivoted behind him as the door slammed shut. His eyes came face to face with brown eyes that were trying very hard to not be amused.

He needed to be away from the throngs of frightened and mourning masses, he needed to be able to listen for the aid he had called and for the Herald. It was hours before the last wolf howled and she collapsed in sight of the Commander.

As he followed the Commander to a tent he could hear the whispers. She was Andraste reborn, she had died and come back to them. His eyes looked to the nearly frozen elf wearing the Eyes of Fen'harel, how cruelly fitting. The masses whispered a likeness of Andraste, but he saw something far more ancient, Mythal in her youth lacking wisdom but she made up for it in kindness and fairness at first. Raised up by the people she too had saved from cruelty unchecked. Exhaling slowly he pushed the the memories and regrets of millenia ago back into the darkness. His magic enveloped the herald slowly easing what he could, the anchor while still his was now very much apart of her. He only left her side, when all that could be done was for the young keeper to rest.

It was the singing that pulled him from the fade, a scene that was familiar in to many ways. He watched as the Revered Mother lead the faithful, and Fen'aslan stood rigidly, her eyes darting around the crowd, and her armored hands clenching into fists. She was uneasy like a caged wolf. There may yet be hope that this would not fair as poorly as the last time the faithful raised and elf to worship.

"A Word." It was all he said as he walked behind her, he caught the relieved look as she broke away from the group to follow him. The road had grown more perilous now, perhaps with his wisdom if she listened he could keep her from the fate of women and elves alike in this religion. His hand waved and the veilfire answered with brief roar casting the memory of warmth. "The humans have not raised one of our people so high for ages beyond counting. Her faith is hard-won, lethallin, worthy of pride…save one detail." He paused as she drew near watching her as she held her hands to the fire and watched him. "The threat Corypheus wields? The orb he carried? It is ours." The shock he expected, as he prepared for her questions while continuing with the words he had already prepared.

"Even if we defeat Corypheus, they will find away to blame us eventually." The pessimism he had not expected but it came with a lifetime of suspicion at the hands of the humans. Yet he could gift her with one thing that would offer her some safety among the humans. Tarasyl'an Te'las, the trip there with the pilgrims would be arduous but it would give them the room to grow that they desperately needed. As she crested the hill, and felt the wards of his own fortress welcome him. Her opaline eyes lite up in a wonder....like that of Evuniala.

It was after the coronation, when she had become Inquisitor that he brought her to the fade. She had changed his whole world, a knot of regrets that Felassan had tried to reach over the millennia starting to unravel all because she listened and asked questions rather then give orders. Where Mythal had flourished under the burden of command and the duty of a ruler. Fen'aslan struggled, spending hours speaking to the advisors, and those who had formed her inner circle. Instead of Benevolence's radiance and Vengeance's fire he saw the gentle warmth of Hope and the chill of Despair.

A kiss to her hand, filled with a devotion he had not given in ages past to make her holy amongst the first of their people and to him alone. The spirits would whisper how the one who hunts alone had set her above her own people and made her equal to him. But she had done that all on her own, and it was only fitting now that he offer her the comfort of his devotion as Hope should have had it long ago as the rarest of the people.

His eyes met her opaline eyes and for a moment he swore he saw her Evuniala, the Hope so long ago lost. There was a hunger between them as she closed the distance first to steal a kiss. Not a goddess but perhaps something much more sacred and holy. He chased her when she pulled away shy of her own passion. His lips captured hers and his arms pulled her up onto his thigh. He could feel the desperation lighting between them, the spirits of passion taking notice as he worshipped her. Lips bruised and parting with sweet whimpers as he found her neck. His hand rested on her back, as she found her feet, cheeks and the tips of her ears flushed. The music of the elvhen court played in the distance of the fade. "We shouldn’t. It isn’t right. Not even here" he offered watching her eyes widen as she looked around. A dreamer she was but perhaps she had never realized her potential until tonight.

"What do you mean even here?" there was a pause and before he could ask her where she though they were. "This is not real?" His lips formed into a smirk, she was quick and cleaver. Not like a fox though but like a wolf....

"That’s a matter of debate… probably best discussed after you wake up." Vhenan...it had almost slipped out in the cast spell. He let out a breath. No it seemed she was not like Mythal, who she was like stirred a deep seated protectiveness in him. She had his devotion and that he did not regret but it made things harder. He would find a new way to correct his mistakes.
