A Sticky Situation?
Greetings fellow Toontown players. :D
Recently, more and more toons, especially the lower laffed ones, have been using the word “glue” to supposedly help increase the chance of a lure gag working. Many toons already know there's no way that could make the gag hit, which is completely true.
Saying “glue” while luring does nothing but just that. Your toon has said “glue”. Chat dialogues have no affect on the way the game behaves, other than when you enter something in violation of the rules. In other words, it doesn't matter if you say “glue” or not. Your lure gag isn't affected by this at all.
Now, say, it did do something to the gag's accuracy. I used one of my higher laffed toons with maxed lure to conduct the following experiment:
At Minnie's Melodyland, I engaged my toon into battle 20 times, each with the same cog, with the same level. 9/10 times, the lure worked. During those battles, I didn't say anything. Now I tried this with saying “glue” each time I lured, with the same level, same cogs, same playground, same lures. The lure hit 8/10 times, proving saying “glue” most definitely doesn't increase the chance of the gag hitting.
To ensure a fair experiment, I used my lower laff toon without maxed lure to do the same thing (same playground, same cog, same level, same lures):
With this toon, I didn't say glue and the lure worked 5/10 times. When I did say glue, the lure worked 5/10 times.
My conclusion is as follows: The word “glue” doesn't affect your gag accuracy and is only a myth.
(NOTE: I'm sure tons of people knew this already. I just wanted to prove it to those who didn't.)
