there would always be a part of him that missed being teenagers. not the whole ... mess with the werewolves and having a crisis every half a year, but the simplicity of being a kid. knowing that the pack was stuck in one place ( hint, it was school ), and that they didn’t have to worry about making plans weeks in advance to see each other. it was just ... easier. but, life goes on and while the pack didn’t see each other every other day, they still met up every few months. some more often then others.
though, not everything has changed. stiles stares at lydia, his mouth comically open wide as he watches her steal yet another french fry from him. that makes it a third in the past two minutes. ‘ lydia. ’ stiles is pushing his food towards himself as he whines out her name, his arm acting like a barrier between her hands and his food. ‘ you said you weren’t hungry. stop trying to take my food ! ’

i would love to hear about what you think arianna did for those first few days after rapunzel and eugene turned up at the castle? was she clingy, was she hesitant, was she scared to seem obsessive?
A little bit of all of the above, to be honest ! She was definitely very touchy with Rapunzel and was with her as often as possible, but after hearing of Gothel’s controlling behavior, she became a little wary and tried to give Rapunzel some breathing room while still getting to know her daughter and enjoying having her back after so long.

it’s been a long day. everyone’s exhausted as they fight to keep their consciousness on the dark, dreary road back home, yet another mystery solved. he’s yawning, one of the only sounds to break the group-wide silence following their week long stay in some quiet town plagued by what was an entire pack of werewolves. he flattens his knuckles to the palm of his hand and squeezes, the pressure in his bones dissolving with several satisfying pops. we’re not grown up enough for this. was that even true? or was it just shaggy who felt inadequate in the face of these jobs? he had to guess it was the second one. after all, there was no one more capable than fred and his leadership, or daphne with her resourcefulness, or velma with her… everything.
the thought leads his eyes to where her head rests against his shoulder as she sleeps. he’s barely allowing himself to breathe for fear of waking her up, the inhalations he takes calculated and precise. never so much that it’d move her. shaggy smiles at the look of serenity on her features, noting how happy he is to see her look so… at peace. the worries and woes of the days prior have melted away, even if it’s not for long. even if it’s just for now.
and – on top of everything else – he’s floating again today. his mind is removed from his body, all of his thoughts muted, with whatever inhibitions he should feel, completely lost; hanging somewhere far outreaches of his conscience. the inhibitions that would’ve stopped him from allowing his careful fingers to tuck the strands of hair falling into her eyes behind her ear, or kept him from dropping that same hand right next to hers, close enough to intertwine their pinkies. the very same inhibitions that could have kept him from turning his face just enough to plant the lightest of kisses to her forehead before he rested his own head atop hers, only to fall asleep right after.
he’s really not too upset about not talking himself out of it, honestly.

“velma?” fear voice catches in his throat, breaking her name into nearly unintelligible, random sounds. he coughs, stands straighter, and tries again. “velma,” okay, maybe he sounded too demanding that time. exhaustion has etched itself into his facial features, has seeped into the very way he walks. he wants nothing more, at this point, than to go home. his first priority, however, lies within ensuring the gang is safe. and that, as it always does, begins with her. “this place is like... totally freaking me out, man.” the comment is really meant for himself, considering shaggy hasn’t seen anyone else in at least twenty minutes. he wonders if they’ve already gotten the hell out of here, before deciding it’s a ridiculous thought.
he sighs as his hands find his hair, anxiety eating away at him with each minute passing. a hopeful tone, “no pressure, or anything, but like... uh, dinkley? feel free to come out and lead me to the exit before i get possessed, in here. please?”

HE COULDN’T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME HE HAD THIS NERVOUS. like excited nervous and not just downright anxious or terrified, he didn’t know how it was going to go but everyone around him had reassured him that this was not going to end badly. ashley and him had been through a lot, the start of their relationship hadn’t been the best, they had been brought together due to the trauma and the events that had happened that night back on blackwood mountain. but whilst they had been brought together out of bad circumstances, they had become stronger and less dependent on each other. chris had known for years he had been in love with ashley, it was about time he finally asked her to be his wife. trust chris to take his time to ask her to marry him too, at least he was consistent.
HE WAS SURE HE WAS GOING TO SPOIL THE SURPRISE, he was sure ashley would sense he was acting strange, that he wasn’t being himself and he hated knowing he might be causing her any kind of anxiety. he wasn’t sure how to reassure her, he wasn’t sure how to not give away what he was planning for her. he had sam and josh keep her away for the day whilst he set up the apartment for his big surprise. he had gotten lots of her favourite flowers, filled the living room with them and it gave off the illusion of being in a meadow, a few candles to lighten the room and he had laid a picnic for them with all her favourite foods. sam had helped him pick out the ring and all he had to do was wait for her to come home.
HE SMILES AS SHE WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR, motioning for her to come and join him on the picnic blanket, “ i thought i’d do something special for you, especially since i’ve been acting so strange recently, ” he admitted softly, holding out a drink for her as he continues to smile at her, his heart pounding in his chest as she comes and joins him on the picnic blanket. he was incredibly nervous, worried that he would mess up what he wanted to say or that he would spoil it too soon. he never thought he’d love anyone as much as he loves ashley and he wanted this moment to be perfect. he wanted this to be one of those fairy tale moments for her, especially since the start of their relationship had been a complete horror film.
HE HAD BEEN TOO NERVOUS TO EVEN EAT A LOT, worried that he was still acting strange before he finally got out the little sketchbook that he had been hiding from her, “ here, i’ve made you something, kinda based it like a kids book but it’s the story of us, ” he told her, handing the book over to her, watching as she turned the pages of the little story, all hand drawn pictures of a little cartoon version of them from the start of their friendship, to the worst night of their lives, to the beginning of the relationship that changed him forever and with a surprise twist at the end, the cartoon version of himself asking her to marry him.
AS SHE LOOKED UP AT HIM, he was holding the ring with tears in his eyes as he looks at her with a smile that just showed how much he loved her, “ i knew i wouldn’t be able to think of the right words to tell you how i feel, which is why i had to just draw it instead, to draw our story out like i did, ” he admitted softly, tears slipping down his cheek as he could no longer contain how nervous and excited he was. he loves her so much and he knew this was a moment he had been thinking about for ages, he just knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, “ so, how is our story going to end? does it have a happy ending? ” he asked softly, hand moving to brush some tears aside from his cheek.
HE NEVER THOUGHT HE’D BE SO HAPPY TO HEAR ONE WORD, smiling wider than he already was as he slips the ring onto her finger. hands move to cup her face, wiping away a tear on her cheek as he kisses her softly, a gentle press of his lips against hers, nose brushing against hers, “ i love you so much ashley, ” he says softly, pressing more kisses to her lips, knowing he’s still crying gently because he loves her so much and he would get to spend the rest of his life with her.
