It's been a rough day today. I lost the stone out of my engagement ring and I am genuinely so so upset. If I didn't have Maisie with me and wasn't at Tesco I would have sat and sobbed . I know it's a ring, it wasn't a ring that cost thousands... but it's the sentiment behind it and I am for sure a woman of sentiment. I am gutted. What's made it worse is that without my engagement ring on my finger , my wedding ring falls off due to the weight loss. So I can't wear my wedding ring either without buying a ring that will fit the shape of it ! Stupid weight loss. So gutted :( . For now I have one of my normal rings on that finger just because I can't handle seeing my naked finger! We have decorated the house this evening for Halloween and I have had a day of studying and trying to catch up slightly. The ironing from the other night is finally finished with more washed and lined up ready to iron when dry and I am feeling rough as a badgers arse! Bad throat and bad head ... I still think I'm suffering from the weekends lack of sleep. So it's time to sit down and rest before I get too ill. Seen as it's Friday 13th today it's not been to shabby a day. Very Very productive. Finally signed off from physio, shopping done, sofa stripped washed and put back together , the beds washed and cleaned, the house cleaned , hoovered the car out , had a meeting at work and then back for swimming lessons. Few last little bits to do before I watch a movie with Andy . I have a craving for a cold beer tonight but trying to hold off until weigh day tomorrow as I WANT WANT WANT that 5 stone loss. After weigh in and a couple of town errands I am looking forward to a very chilled afternoon before the reality of Rock of Ages kicks in . Can't believe it's all next week . Can't believe on Sunday I'll be on a stage for the first time in my life. Not scared at all! 🙈 also very excited though and I am mentally preparing for what I think is going to be a big week of pride, emotion and surreal feelings of ' what the hell am I doing on this stage!?! ( this is not something I do!) It's amazing what starting a weight loss journey can do eh? If you are local Rock of Ages is on at Uppingham Theatre weds - Saturday next week. It's been a work day for me today followed by an afternoon doing Maisie's homework. The homework we have known about since she went back after summer and the homework due in in three days! 🙈 for someone who prides themself on organisation , I have failed rather miserably at this particular task and now its a case of last minute. Com!! Just figuring out our family tree and jotting it down on paper for Maisie was a mission in itself and a degree is needed for it! Don't get me wrong, I know how to do a family tree ... But trying to fit our very large and very un average family onto a piece of paper was quite a mission . A sheet of wallpaper would be more sufficient !! Anyway after smugly mastering that I then had the pleasurable task of getting Maisie to write out three generations of family and step family 🤣 keeping her concentration was also a mission but we got there . Being me , I like to be different . I drew out before work this morning a tree trunk , ready to collect leaves with Maisie to make an actual tree effect .... whilst cooking tea Maisie decided to graffiti on my tree and draw some lovely little people running away from the tree 🤣 little sod! I can see how this is going to go tomorrow . Mummy here will spend the evening after rehearsals cutting and sticking to get it finished for her. I have done my first online tutorial tonight for my degree which I loved and I got a picture of me after a week of doing the 30 days abs challenge . I am not sure there is a difference yet if I am honest?? Maybe a very slight difference but I think the camera angle is slightly different too which makes it hard to compare but I shall keep going and plugging away at it . Friday nights are always a bit manic to get maisie back from swimming, fed, bathed and in bed for 7pm whilst making sure Andy and I do not get too 'hangry'. Rustled together a quick lasagne to for us to eat while I drooled over the sweet aroma of Maisie's McDonald's. We could roll over past 7pm for her bed time but then we pay the price tomorrow when the devil child comes to lodge at ours. Plus I am desperate to sit down. I can really feel my back again today and knowing how busy the weekend is going to be I could do without any obstacles. Weigh day tomorrow . Flashback Friday! When you need a reminder with a comparison shot to realise just how far you have come... you look at it but you still don't actually believe it because the 'before " picture is just like looking at a completely different person. I don't recognise the person in the first picture anymore . It's such a bizarre feeling. Apart from losing chins and now having a more defined face shape my identity has changed too.... the style of clothes I wear, the make up I wear , how I wear my hair , my ability to have a photo without being embarrassed . I have found the real me that was hiding away for so long. I have had a few compliments passed back to me of recent, some from the opposite sex ... some calling me hot or sexy . I can't accept that. I can't get my head around that and I don't see it. Do I look at a picture now without cringing ? Absolutely! Can I tell that I look better than I once did? Sure I can. But to be referred to as sexy or hot??! I just cannot get my head around that. Sexiness comes from confidence no matter what size and although mine has trebled it's still not peaked enough that I could say I have sex appeal. It just makes me laugh or feel uncomfortable. But what I do feel when I look at pictures like this is pride. I have done something I, nor my husband, never believed I would. To stick and persevere at something which offers so many " get out of jail free cards" along the way . I have refused most of them , with a few wobbles and I have done something for Me, for my family, and for my health. So far, today has been a much more productive day than yesterday. We were late to bed after band call last night because as the cool kids say " we were buzzing ". I don't care wether you agree with me or not but I'm putting it out there.... You cannot beat a live band! So this morning I struggled to get up and it was a mad rush to get up and ready for school... saving grace being that I was coming home to decorate so didn't need to waste time doing my hair and makeup .... just had to remove last night's! 🙈 yup ! I will occasionally do a beauty therapists worst nightmare and sleep in my make up. Once a few cups of coffee had been consumed I decorated the whole dining room , half of which was a second coat , made some phone calls, booked some appointments and checked the progress of something I am so excited to share but best not until I have it all confirmed that its going ahead. 🤞 Quick lunch eaten whilst on hold on one of the many phone calls .... why is it they always answer when you have a mouth full of food?!?! Lunch was a ham and lettuce wrap, sunbites bbq parcels, weight watchers yoghurt and an apple.
