hi! i have a question about ex!N & MC’s past relationship! AFAIK they broke up bc N was bored. did MC know going into the relationship that N didn’t necessarily see them as a long term/serious romantic couple esp. since you said they didn’t have any emotional attachments to MC at the time? if that was the case, would they have dissuaded MC from developing/expressing genuine feelings/love towards them, etc. basically just curious about the dynamic of their past relationship!! thanks and sorry if this has been touched on already!

Yes! MC definitely got involved with N being well aware of how they saw relationships and how they behaved with commitment. N never hid their approach to relationships and they 100% did not expect MC, of all people, to fall for them.

N had fun with MC, and they expected MC to have fun too. Once the novelty wore off, they didn’t have as much fun anymore and then got bored (N gets bored very easily, with everything), so they ended it. They expected MC to feel the same because those were the unspoken terms of their affair, they never made any promises to MC.

Also, if it was blatantly clear that MC was falling for N, they would have ended it much sooner. Sure, with their huge ego they always expect people to fall for them, and that’s why they’re never sweet or romantic (unless they want to get something ofc), so MC getting head-over-heels for them was, in a way, unexpected (particularly because MC knew N). 

They had no interest in getting serious at the time and would have very much preferred to avoid that headache.

Nope, N is a very greedy and selfish person (it’s why they became a thief!), they’re definitely not open to sharing MC with anyone else once they’re together.

hmmm but how does A feel about N breaking MC's heart? like i know they're best friends, but i assume at some point they were like "hey N, can you like.... NOT please?? 🙃" esp if they knew that MC was in it WAYYY deeper emotionally than N ever was. (cannot wait for my MC to rip N a new one on their route btw, love that angst)

A thinks MC should have known better, because N never hid what their intentions were or who they really are. Of course, A felt bad for MC once they saw what happened, and did what they could to help MC get better. A also worked it out with N to keep those two apart, which N was pretty eager to do.

Also, A isn’t the most emotionally aware person out there, so they wouldn’t have realized MC was falling for N that easily at the time tbh KJHASDJKA Mostly because A avoided talking about them together like the plague, they did not want to hear about the intimacy between their best friend and MC 😂

Could you give us a little info about A and N's friendship?

*cracks knuckles* I’ve been waiting for this ask hehe thanks.

A and N met on foster care when they were young. A has always lived in the system, while N only joined after they were 10, and they were most definitely not the best of friends at first. A was incredibly reclusive and didn’t get along with the other kids, and they were a scrawny kid so they always looked younger than the other kids their age. N, on the other hand, was almost too charming (and tall and good looking), and A didn’t trust them in the least.

They only started to get along when N caught Nathan teaching A how to cheat at cards, and barged in like any obnoxious 10 year old asking to learn it too kjsdfhjksfs A was upset because they didn’t want to share the one person who gave them the time of the day, but Nathan was soft and couldn’t say no, and A relented when they saw the way N watched them with the utmost admiration -- and that’s how they became friends.

A was often jealous of N, because everything came easy to them with their charm and looks, but N never left A behind, nor took advantage of them, so those issues worked themselves out with the years, and N helped A to be more confident in themselves as well.

They bicker constantly but it’s just their way of communicating. Those two are the ones whose trust is the hardest to earn from the thieves, and the one person who they completely trust is each other.

A knows things about N they have never told another soul, and N has never questioned a call A made, no matter how insane it might sound to other people.

Of course, they still keep secrets from each other and their nicknames to the other are usually dipshit, idiot, and bitch, but that’s just who they are.

I’d say they’re already madly in love with you too but that’d be a lie, they’re all sneaky bastards 🥺 but I can give you facts!

I just answered some M facts here.

N facts:

- Can play the piano, which they learned as a child from their mother.

- International con artist and thief, they have countless aliases and refuse to wear a disguise, claiming that a pretty smile and the right outfit is more than enough to fool people (and they are right).

- They have very deft fingers and have yet to find a lock or a pocket they can’t pick.

- Lover of the finer things in life: art, clothes, cars, houses, people… they grew up with nothing, and have made sure to spoil themselves as soon as they learned how.

R facts:

- Hyperfocus or no focus!

- The middle child of a large family (five siblings), so they were (and still are) always causing a ruckus to get attention.

- Hardly ever says no to a party or a drink. No need for it to be a good drink either.

- Grew up with a few dogs and a lazy, fat cat in their family, so they have a major weak spot for animals; they are known for donating (quite generously) to animal charities constantly.

N will never be super soft (even M can be softer, honestly aksjdhaks), if that’s what you’re asking. That’s just not who they are. BUT they obviously soften and open up to MC once they get involved for real... while still being a sarcastic bastard.

I won’t say the instances soft!N might happen, though. That’s for the story to show hehe

N would be completely indifferent about it. They had no emotional attachment to MC when they dated in the past, and even if they did, it’s been a couple of years already, so they’re just happy A is in a happy, healthy relationship!

It changes a lot if it’s in the LT route, though. But I’ll let you find out how they react to that scenario in game ehe

As for A, it’s not weird at all as well. MC has a past and so does them, there’s no point in comparing their relationship with anything they had before with other people. A just wants to make MC happy 🥰
