you know your url has a racial slur in it. like there's a reason no one ever uses this spelling of his name it's because it's a racial slur.
hello anon!
i received an ask educating me about the racial slur a few weeks ago, and i was extremely thankful for the same, as it was entirely new information for me.
however, when i use this name, i mean it in a completely different sense. this word, to me, is a korean reading of his name and means 'yellow'.
further, if my name, 'hana', was a racial slur in a different prominent culture, well knowing that the word is meant to mean 'flower', would you still boycott the usage of the name? no. you'd use the word in the context it's supposed to be in.
and this url is not in the context of a racial slur. it's simply a name.
this is what one of my friends had to say about this issue that you can use as an analogy:
other languages and cultures exist in the world, and i don't think it's fair to be biased about the usage of a name that has an actual positive meaning in a different culture.
if you'd like a more comprehensive explanation of this issue, i request you to check the ask i answered previously.

TRACKING TAG CHANGE •°—
turns out using a tracking tag across two blogs where people didn't necessarily follow my main and the said tag not staying the same throughout the 100000 times i change my url in a year is VERY inefficient 😭
to organise a little better, i've decided to change my tracking tag! it might be quite frustrating to deal w my shennanigans all the time and i'm v sorry for that ;-;
i will be tracking '#hanatonin' for all content!
tagging a few people who use my tag quite often (i am SORRY ksjdkdj): @joshuas, @yoonzinosdarling, @boochans, @tomlinsun, @yunaevis, @yutaslaugh, @heetonin, @heartgyus, @soonhoonsol

injun is a racial slur for native americans and i get it's the korean way to say his name but if you're not korean then you shouldn't be using it
hello anon,
thank you very much for educating me on the fact that the word is a racial slur, as i was unaware of it. i would like you to know that offending the native american community is not my intention.
firstly, i'd like to explain to you why renjun (仁俊) is also referred to as injun (인준). injun is his korean name, derived from the hanja reading of his chinese name.
hanja is a traditional writing system of chinese characters. in this system, chinese characters are read with a korean reading. (source)
therefore, the character '仁' from chinese (read as 'rén') changes to the korean character '인' (read as 'in').
further, '俊' (read as 'jùn') changes to the korean character '준' (read as 'jun').
hence, this makes the name renjun = injun, meaning they are both the same name.
another example to understand this is the chinese vs. korean name of xu minghao (from SEVENTEEN), where '徐明浩' (Xu Ming Hao) in chinese changes to '서명호' (Seo Myung Ho) in korean.
i would like you to know that THIS was the context in which i was using the word, and i would have never done it otherwise, even if i still weren't aware of the fact that the word in question is a racial slur.
secondly, i would like to explain why using one's name in a different language is okay for someone, as a non-native of the said language, to do. this is simply because of the fact that, irrespective of culture, this is how calling people by their name works. as an asian, i go by the name of 'hana'. you are not invalidated from calling me by the name 'hana', assuming you are not asian. therefore, i have the right to call someone by their cultural name too.
thirdly, the fact that the word has a different meaning in a different language, further gives me the right to use that word in a different context. i do not mean to invalidate native american culture, because i simply never did. all along, i have been using the name 'injun' and not the racial slur. i request you to take note of this.
further, i hope you realise that this word is being taken out of context to support a different view altogether. in this scenario, the name 'injun' is not related to the racial slur at all. in this context, the name 'injun' is simply, a name. and you DO have the right to call someone by their respective proper name. i understand that it can seem surprising at first, but it is exactly like the surprise i had when i learnt it was a racial slur in a different context.
if you would like a different explanation regarding the same issue, i request you to check this.
i hope you understand my reasoning, and why i can use this url.
