Every year for a week, in memory of the fallen soldiers that were stationed in Hawaii, the last pair of boots they wore along with their picture and what conflict they were serving are displayed donated by their loved ones from 2001-2015+. Over 7,000 boots are displayed now on ford island with about 60-70 being added every day for those we lose overseas..❤️☆💙 ✨ This is A reminder that freedom isn't free, and the military is made up different genders, ethnicities, those from other places, and some of our own. You may have your opinion about the military, but it doesn't change the fact that these men and women are willing to serve no matter what the circumstance, and deserve RESPECT for allowing us to live the lives we are able to live. thank you to those who served and are currently serving.. I wanted to save this post for Friday (9/11), but it was too important not to post now. I had the opportunity to do a community service with my kiddo's Girl Scout troop for the memorial. If you are able to get on to ford island I highly suggest it, before they take it down this weekend. This was such an amazing thing to see in person.💕🇺🇸 #OperationFreedom #GodBlessAmerica #HAWAII #n00bfilmskillz (at Ford Island)
