ANSWER N' ASK
Tagged by ohgreatsailorsenshikate. I'm dead tired but I'm going to power through this and get these questions answered!
Rule One: Always post the rules.
Rule Two: Answer the questions the person who tagged you asked and write 10 new ones.
Rule Three: Tag 11 people and link them to the post.
Rule Four: Actually tell them you linked them.
1. Favorite book and why.
I really haven't read many books but from the few I have read I absolutely adore The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Douglas Adams has a remarkable way with words. I mean seriously, just read these quotes:
"The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don’t."
""Ford... you're turning into a penguin. Stop it."”
"He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it."
"There is an art, it says, or rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss."
"It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes."
These examples could go on forever.
2. Describe a defining moment in your life. Why was it so important?
I don't know if it can be classified as a moment because of the duration, but going to Korea was very life-changing for me. It was the first time I had ever gone out of country, and on top of that I stayed for an entire year. I lived there and worked there, which is completely different from a vacation. I was completely engulfed in a different culture, different customs, different food, different people, etc. It was there that I found out a lot about myself as a person, and what values I hold important to me. I also discovered a newfound sense of self-confidence and self-worth, two things that I've struggled with in the past. I also, for the first time in my life really, started seeing beauty in nature. Maybe it's because I got into photography while I was there, maybe it was because I had friends who loved exploring nature and about its beauty, but it was all very new to me.
All-in-all, it really was a life-changing experience.
3. What is your favorite song and why?
This is probably the most difficult question in the world LIKE WHAT EVEN. Do people actually have ONE favorite song?!
I'm going to give you three, and I doubt these will even be my legit top 3 always or even now, but it's the best I can come up with for such a crazy question haha.
Arctic Monkeys - "Black Treacle" (this song just feels so GOOD. It has an uplifting melody with great lyrics)
Vampire Weekend - "Diane Young" (I pretty much never get tired of hearing this song. It's so upbeat and catchy)
Kishi Bashi - "Atticus, in the Desert" (Kishi Bashi has an absolutely beautiful, unique musical style. I love listening to his music)
4. What kind of bender would you be?
I've gone back and forth on this question throughout the past few years but I can confidently say now that I would be a waterbender. The changeable, flexible nature suits me quite well.
5. If you could have grown up in any other place/country/state/WHEREVER, where would you pick and why?
My initial instinct was to grow up on another planet with intelligent life hahaha. I just want to see what their planet and their people are like. But if we're sticking to planet Earth, I'd probably want to grow up in California. I like living in America, and I think California has a great breeding ground for creative types. I love art in all its forms, I just wish I could have fallen in love with it earlier in life.
6. Whether you believe in reincarnation or not, what kind of person could you see yourself having been in a past life? (e.g. ethnicity, occupation, family, however much you want to elaborate here. Muhaha.)
I think I could have been a woman in the 1970s who was deeply in love with music and wanted to play in a rock band, but kept that desire hidden from her family because they wouldn't approve of those sorts of dreams. So I'd have a normal, societally acceptable life by day and secretly play with bands in sketchy clubs at night.
7. If you were an animal, what kind of animal would you be?
Maybe a penguin or an elephant. Sorry for the lack of explanation, I'm not entirely sure I have a good reason haha.
8. What is your favorite physical feature on yourself? (About yourself? No hablo inglés.)
Hmm favorite physical feature. I like my hair. When I shower close to the time I go to bed, I wake up with hair that looks like it's been styled with hair product.
9. What is your favorite spiritual/personality-based thing about you?
I think I really value my open-minded nature. This is also sort of a bad thing because it's really hard for me not to be annoyed or stressed out when I interact with people who are so firmly rooted in their beliefs that they don't care how it may be affecting others around them.
10. Would you rather eat lunch with nice people, or eat nice people for lunch? ʕʘ‿ʘʔ
Hahahaha. Meals are precious occasions, and they're made even better when in the company of great people. :)
OKAY here are 10 new questions for the1d975, thekimadventure, n2kk, byjinnguyen, mishface, xwendyyyy, walrusbutter, phlupp, iilanawexler, isntthatwizard, and bluebrows. I also think ohgreatsailorsenshikate should do this again since she asked two of her friends to do hers again.
