British Aerospace (BAe) Hatfield division designed the A300 and A310 wings. BAe Hatfield was once de Havilland Aircraft which was acquired by Hawker Siddley in 1960. Hawker Siddley was merged with British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) to form British Aerospace (BAe) in 1978.⠀ ⠀ When the A319/320/321 program was launched, Airbus again turned to the UK, only this time it was the Weybridge division of BAe that worked with MBB and Aerospatiale on the A319/320/321 wing. BAe Weybridge was once Vickers Aircraft where the VC-10 was built. In 1960, Vickers, Bristol, English Electric, and Hunting merged to form British Aircraft Corporation (BAC).
