The last of my tiny venthyr for Venthyr Week!  Cryptkeeper Kassir, Nadjia the Mistblade, General Draven and Temel the Party Herald.  ...I know those last two aren’t venthyr, but they’re too great not to include.

Okay, I was talking with @bloobinary about the Countess having a possible bat form and that got me thinking.

The venthyr should have bat forms.

Just imagine, the Maw Walker is heading back to Sinfall one evening when this thing lands in front of them. They’ve seen bats, they’re used to the ones in Revendreth even, but this...this thing is huge and its features are just enough un-batlike that it is incredibly unsettling.

The Maw Walker is about to throw the first punch, so to speak, when the creature starts speaking in this low, husky voice that sounds almost demonic.

About tea.

And the Maw Walker is just like what the fuck?

And then the bat-thing turns into Theotar, and he is completely oblivious to the Maw Walker’s confusion/horror. 

Time goes on and then the Maw Walker sees the Accuser turn into a bat-thing, and her form is bigger than Theotar’s and scarier. And the Maw Walker slowly realizes that all venthyr have a bat form.

So they ask Nadjia about it, and she confirms it, but kind of brushes it off. 

Like, she really seems disinterested.

Eventually the topic comes up with Draven, who confirms that Renathal is indeed the biggest/eeriest of the bat-things, and then Nadjia’s disinterest is mentioned and Draven snorts.

Because the size of their bat form is dependent on both their power and their age.

And Nadjia is a ‘young’ venthyr.

More time passes.

Eventually, the Maw Walker and Nadjia are trapped somewhere and there is a great need to get a message to Sinfall quickly. Nadjia demands the Maw Walker close their eyes. So they do.

Until they hear the sqeak.

Nadjia is the size of the bat battle pets. 

And absolutely crushed that the Maw Walker has seen her shame.

Real talk, I was really surprised how easily Nadjia came to me while I was drawing her. Maybe it’s getting to use so many sharp angles???

In any case, I am pretty pleased with how this one came out ✨
