i think it's worse to imagine the scenario from the perspective of anyone who doesn't know that Izuko is merely trying to create a protégé, especially in terms of her parents' enabling it (in no possible view do they come away from things looking like good and responsible parents)
Literally, it’s so bad it’s unreal. There’s simply no way for Nadeko’s parents to make those choices and look like good ppl. They’re whole deal is that they’re larping as good ppl because they care about image more than their daughter so they straight up just allow her to be in a situation like this because they’re too stubborn to view their kid as a person that doesn’t fit into their neat box of the world. Literal perfect situation for someone to swoop in and induct their child into a grooming scenario, do they even know that Gaen is a factor in here? Do they just think she’s homeless and are hoping she gives up and goes back in the closet (of being a mangaka) as a form of tough love? The answer is yes to that last one but they deadass aren’t even checking in on her, irresponsible headass.
