I'm only saying this bc I googled it and got a dumb fuck reddit thread, that was kinda dogging on someone for pointing this out. But I am 99.9% sure Spamton DR is a trans man, and I'd be really surprised if its not canon.
like. JUST from how he interacts with the mannequin, I am convinced and i wanna rant about it.
first off you know this dress. It's almost identical to the one Mettaton and dress lion wear in UT, now on a mannequin that looks like Spamton in DR. If you try and put Spamton in the mannequin while he's on the loadeddisk, he squirms and won't fit.
This could be for other reasons. He wants the Neo body. Or he doesn't want to show up around Kris' friends, which we know are both true.
But this is also the Only Other Thing aside from the NEO body that you can put the loadeddisk into. As far as I know there's literally nothing else you can do with the disk aside from put it in NEO or try the mannequin. So, What is trying to be communicated here?
The thing we already know and has been reinforced, clearly, a few times already (Spamton only wants to talk to us when we're alone, or he wants desperately to be put into the neo body, not this doll)
for an interaction that's a bit rare (you need to not buy the mannequin during your time w/ noelle and have the loaded disk later)
Or, maybe hinting at a new detail? (this is what spamton used to look like, and he really doesn't want to go back to that)
I've seen a lot of people assume the mannequin is just a joke, via the addisons trying to emasculate spamton. I don't think this is a sort of joke toby would tell, its not a very funny one either. It would also be pretty shitty considering this dress' ties to the other trans characters.
also, tiny detail, but the only one who can use the mannequin like armour (would this count as wearing the dress? the clothes are described as permanently attached to the doll, so what the f is happening when you equip it?) is Kris, our resident canon Nonbinary

Spamton is a puppet. Who are other puppet, doll, toy, or adjacent to those, that we know in UT/DR?
MewMew is a doll, 'puppeted' by a ghost
Mettaton is a robot, also puppeted by a ghost
Seam is a toy/sewn doll of a cat
And, if you'll stretch just teensy bit w me here, Kris is our puppet.

I'm probably preaching to the choir with this post but. I get pretty sad when I go into the comments of videos like the one above or forum threads discussing this stuff, and there's absolutely 0 attempt in the comments to connect the lore/read into it past the joke.
Especially when half the videos talking about the mannequin sum it up with the NEO excuse. Which like, yeah, I get, but that feels like an empty answer to me. What do we gain from this interaction if that's it? spamton doesn't like this weird mannequin, that seemingly exists for no reason, that looks like him in a dress?
Maybe im biased but the answer of Spamton was a much different looking addison before he became a big shot, maybe even one of the few lady addison, sounds actually interesting to me.
I love trans men and this feels like another case of trans men being so invisible that the average person doesn't even like, Think to connect the dots of 'oh this character could be trans'. Same thing happened to Mettaton in UT, a lot of people still don't recognize he's a trans man (even if they get that he's trans lol)
