For @hipsterhandsomejack​‘s birthday that was two days ago! I’m sorry I was late getting this out!

Paige’s at a lost at how she’s up so early. Even with a set alarm clock, she’s shocked to find herself awake and ready to go at 8 am.

She’s got a mission, though, and has no time to commend herself for such a feat. Today was a special day and she needed to get started before Nikki had awaken.

With a grunt, the Brit heaved her body out of bed, such a lonely bed. As she fixes the sad thing, she sighs, looks around the room with disdain. This isn’t her room, their room. Just the lowly guest room Nikki has her confined in, since the whole lingerie fiasco.

But Paige wasn’t about to complain. She’s feels lucky enough that Nikki even let her stay in their home, as well seemingly trying to work things out, albeit slow as hell.

As Paige folds back the top of her comforter, she smiles and nods to herself. Today’s going to be a different day if she had anything to do about it. AJ’s out of her life, Nikki’s coming around, and it just so happens to be Nikki’s birthday today.

It’s time to put ‘Operation: Get Nikki Back’ into action.

She sneaks into Nikki’s room after about an hour or so in the kitchen, a tray of Nikki’s favorite breakfast food balancing in her hands.

She’s a little disappointed to find Nikki awake, tapping furiously away on her phone, as she wanted to wake up her love in one of those cheesy, over romantic ways she hated, but Nikki loved so much.

A bashful grin settles on Paige’s lips, as a somewhat annoyed, but confused look crosses Nikki’s face.

“What is that?” Nikki asks, breaking the tension filled silence. Her icy irises scan Paige up and down, before landing on the stack of French toast. Despite Nikki’s closed off demeanor, Paige can see the excitement bubbling underneath and she internally cheers herself on.

“You know what it is.” Paige answers playfully, shimmying as much as she could without spilling the tray over. “It’s your birthday, Nicole. I wanted to do something special for you.” She continues her way into the room and hears Nikki scoff.

“You didn’t have to.” The Bella responds, almost immediately. She sounds angry, but she pushes the end button on her phone and places it on the bedside table regardless.

“But I wanted to. I love you.” Paige retorts and has to remind herself not to feed off of Nikki’s agitation if she’s wants her plan to work, reminds herself that she deserves this. She cheated on Nikki and she has to pay the price, even if that price is the worst case of passive aggression she’s ever been on the receiving end of.

Nikki scoffs once again, this time adds a roll of her eyes and a cross of her arms. “Thanks, anyway. I guess.”

Paige takes what she can get and nods, taking the few strides over to Nikki. She places the tray over Nikki’s middle and, somewhere deep down, admires her work. A stack of French toast, dripping with sweet syrup, some scrambled eggs, three pieces of bacon and a bowl of fruit, complete with a glass of mimosa.

When her eyes flicker to her girlfriend (could she still say that?), she catches a starry eyed expression on her face and it makes butterflies explode in her gut. She actually clutches at her stomach, the smile on her face becomes shaky as she thinks about just how much she really loves this woman.

“You… You like it, Nik?” She stutters.

Nikki looks down at the floor for a moment and Paige begins to panic. She was sure this was her last chance to show Nikki how much she loved her and was willing to do anything to save their relationship and if she messed this up…

Paige can’t even imagine life without Nikki. She draws a blank for the what-if scenario and it has her frightened.

Nikki finally looks up, her pretty face soft and kind. Her Nikki.

“Yeah… Thank you. A lot.” The twin responds, a delighted smile kissing her lips and Paige falls in love all over again. She’s so busy staring at her, she almost misses Nikki picking up her fork to dig in.

“Wait.” Paige holds out her hand and uses her other to dig into her sweatpants pocket. Nikki looks at her confused as Paige pulls out a small robin blue box.

Nikki’s eyes widened and she gasped aloud, her body shakes in disbelief.

“Okay. Okay. Remember, you have food on top of you before you freak.” Paige beams, chuckles, as she pops open the box.

“Is this from Tiffany’s?!” Nikki squeals. She lifts her head to peer at the dazzling diamond earrings that sit pretty in the box. Her smile drops and she stares back up at Paige.

“Those are the earrings—“

“You’ve been wanting?” Paige finishes, and a blush overcomes her pale complexion. “I know. I thought they’d be a nice birthday gift, y’know?”

When she bends down to give them over, Nikki wraps an arm around her neck and carefully pulls her into a hug.

“Thank you.” Nikki whispers into her ear, pressing a fleeting peck to Paige’s temple.

Paige can only nod, her body overcome by sudden and absolute joy. She doesn’t know what to do with herself. This was all she wanted. Just to be back in Nikki’s good graces and make up for her mistake.

Nikki lets her go after a moment and takes the box, appreciating the shiny present.

“How about…” Nikki begins, caressing the earrings. “You sleep in here tonight?”

26 seems like the one to lead to the most angst so i say do that your choice of which ship though

26. “That’s… Not mine?”

It’s only three words, but it does enough damage. It takes theall of the air out of the room, leaving both women in piercing silence. Thoughthe question drops a challenge, it’s a threat to each heart. Who has the ballsto speak first? Who will lie? Who will break?

Paige is sure she not going to be the one. There’s ice beinginjected in her veins. Her brain’s gone on lockdown and the only thing she cando is stare at Nikki, stare at the tiny, lacy, black panties dangling from herpretty manicured finger.

Nikki seems to be in the same state, except instead of ice, herblood’s boiling every second she stands in the quiet. The Bella would lovenothing more than to scratch at her skin, pick away the flesh and drain thelava flowing through every limb, but she can’t move. 

Because if she does, she’llexplode, and she doesn’t want to give Paige the satisfaction. Her pride wouldbe damned if she let Paige see her cry, see her vulnerable, beg that what she’sthinking isn’t true and the underwear in her hand is just a figment of herimagination.

Those aren’t Nikki’s. Nowhere near what her girlfriend wears, notto mention the size of the lingerie is way too small. Paige feels trapped, likethe bubble of air that’s caught in her throat as she struggles to speak. Shecan’t lie. There’s absolutely no way she can. Truth or not, she knows Nikki’sgoing to freak. 

She can’t believe she’s about to lose the love of her life inthe next moment, as she struggles to force words out of her mouth. She shouldhave known this day would come, but she got cocky, thought she could have notonly her cake, but ice cream too, and eat it. It kills her to admit that shelet the other woman get to her, but the attraction was always too strong, toointoxicating.

That woman was a drugthat Paige couldn’t quit. That womanwas a cancer that Nikki had living in her body for a while now that she’s justcaught a little too late.

The longer the silence stretches, the more Nikki balls the incriminatingevidence in her hand into a tight fist.

“Why are these in my house…? Why has she been in my house?”

Nikki’s raspy tone shatters the bubble of tension, only to createa more hostile one that makes Paige flinch when she speaks.

“…” Paige continues to stare, an answer not coming anytime soon.

When Nikki realizes that, Paige notices a flare of rage in hergorgeous chocolate irises. Paige notices, that Nikki Bella just may go to jailtonight for murder.

things you said when you were scared

Nikki’s all smiles as huge tear drops run down her cheeksand off the sides of her face. She wipes them away, but soon gives up as there’sjust no sign of stopping despite her constant reassurance of her well-being. Shejust stares, heart filling with happiness, and lets those tears fall.

“I thought I wouldhave to live without you.” Paige blubbers, as she wipes away the waterfallscoming out of her eyes and onto Nikki’s face. Nikki’s never seen her look socolorful; Paige’s face is a strawberry red, dark violet rings adorning the bottomof her cocoa colored eyes.

It’s absolutely beautiful and Nikki wishes she could sit upand kiss Paige senseless, but she’s currently confined to a hospital bed, freshout of neck surgery with strict orders not to move a muscle.

“Paige,–“ TheBella begins, in another effort to calm her sobbing girlfriend, but she’ssilenced by Paige’s lips. A surprisingly soft peck to her mouth and Nikki shutsup, not saying another word as Paige leans away.

“No… Nicole, I…”Paige starts, but she stops suddenly, looking like a fresh batch of tears wereon the way. Nikki lets her take time, watching her seriously, anxiously waitingon what Paige had to say.

“I love you.”Paige declares. Nikki almost responds with an eye roll and an ‘I know,’ but shemanages to hold it back as Paige continues.

“I really, really loveyou. I cannot stress that enough. When I saw you, unconscious, and when theyrolled you away from me, I thought my heart stopped. I know this was supposedto be an easy procedure and we agreed that you would be fine, but…” Paige’sface twists again and a small whimper sounds from her throat.

“I couldn’t help butthink about what could go wrong! If I would have lost you today… This wholeshitstorm just made me see how much you mean to me and how much I love you and…and… You’re my whole world, Nicole. I couldn’t go on if you left me. I was soscared.”

Nikki wipes at tears again, this time, her own, because shefeels like Paige just shattered her heart and rejuvenated it at the same time.Her usually overly tough girlfriend is bawling her eyes out, looking so small…Nikki’s not used to this and she wants nothing more to hold Paige right now.

“I don’t want you outof my life, Nikki.”

“I won’t.” Nikkianswers immediately, her voice raspy from tears and surgical drugs.

“Ever. I mean it.” Paige resumes, pressing tiny, fleetingkisses to Nikki’s face, then one full one to her lips. “Nicole, I want you forever… Marry me.”

things you said when you were drunk

The first time she says it, Nikkidoesn’t take it to heart. Paige is pretty much out of her mind at this point.Nikki’s sure Paige’s got more vodka and tequila flowing through her veins thanactual blood. It’s fine though, they’re off tomorrow and this isn’t the firsttime Nikki’s had to deal with a drunk person. She actually finds Paige easierto deal with than her sister. The Brit’s been quiet, mumbling nonsense here andthere. She almost falls out of chair a few times, but it’s nothing Nikki can’thandle. Paige scoots her stool closer to Nikki.

“Steady. You keep me steady.”

Their thighs touch, and Nikkiignores the lack of space and the warmth spilling onto her skin.

The second time she says it,Nikki still isn’t taking her seriously. Paige is leaning onto her, gigglingrelentlessly at some joke she’d messed up half way through. Nikki’s laughingtoo, because the intoxicated joy Paige is radiating is just contagious. Possiblybecause Nikki’s not completely sober herself, but she doesn’t look too muchinto it. Paige wraps her arms around the Bella, whispering sweet apologies andloving gratitude.

“I know you aren’t my sister, but you treat me like one and I appreciateit, y’know? I appreciate you.”

The third time she says it Nikkifinally feels a shudder. She blames it on Paige’s closeness, on her drunkenstupor. The younger woman’s chest pressed tightly against her arm and herbreath heavy on her ear. The Bella holds back another shiver as she feels Paige’sblack painted nail pick at the sleeve of her dress. She pulls it down slowly,leaving a trail of electricity in her wake. Nikki’s surprised that she hasn’tjolted from her seat from how extreme it feels.

“Beautiful, y’know? Fuck those assholes who make fun of your outfits!You’re hot.”

The fourth time she says it, Nikkistares at her, dumbfounded. There’s a terrifying awareness in Paige’s chocolatecolored irises that leaves Nikki frozen and wondering if she was the real drunkone. Paige’s got a hand on her cheek, stroking her reddening cheeks. Paige istalking, but Nikki’s only watching her lipstick smudged mouth, as she pondershow she let Paige and her obvious feelings slip by without any acknowledgement.

“… Been trying to get your attention…”

“… Scared…”

“… Had to use liquor, ha…”

Is what’s picked up through Nikki’sthoughts. Her heart hurts and Nikki’s not shocked to feel the awful sting oftears prick her eyes. She feels stupid and terrible. Like she’s led Paige onall this time, let her suffer in silence with her feelings, put a limit ontheir relationship with all the ‘little sister’ remarks. Paige laughs, like shecan read her mind, and wipes away her tears.

The last time she says it, Nikki’ssure her heart explodes as Paige kisses her with those beautiful alcohol soakedlips.

“I love you.”
