Little Life Update

We took a cat! This cute little fluff boy who just turned 5-months old. He is a Birman and already totally in our hearts with his cuteness. But of course, as a total 5-month old, he loves to play oh so much. 

He doesn’t have a name yet, we call him “tohman” which in Estonian is a cutesy way to say “a fool”. But he will get a proper name tonight, when my little brother seems him for the first time and gets to name him :)

A week off

I will have a week off from posting my gameplay pictures :) Flying tomorrow to Germany to go to a conference and also staying there until Sunday. Quite excited but nervous at the same time. Travelling always makes me nervous - is everything going ok, will I forget something etc.

Fingers crossed everything will be awesome and see you next week!

Celebrated 28th Birthday today 🎉

It’s been a while since I have had some personal talk here. While the world has gone more and more cray-cray (and I try to help people in Ukraine with the best of my abilities), I try to keep on swimming over here, learn more about myself, build meaningful relationships and spread positiveness. 

Me and my bf celebrated in March our 4th anniversary. We have been super busy decorating and organizing our very first home together where we have now lived for a bit more than a year. At work being a busy bee and besides being an Android Developer, I have also taken on a new role of being an Android Team Lead. The new role definitely was exciting and felt that I was bit out of my comfort zone but that feeling was good. For the past 4-5 months I have learned so much and now I am slowly starting to feel confident in the role. 

Finally after years of studying (and little bit of teaching) I am finally focusing on  my physical health rather than doing workouts with my brain (aka studying :D). Started going to physio and slowly increasing my daily physical activity. It is definitely hard and the slow progress is not so motivating, but thankfully my physio trainer is the best.

Life update

TL;DR - will be away for a bit, but I have some photos still in queue

A bit longer story -

I bought an apartment in October! It has been a dream of mine for a long time and I have been saving for it for years. All of the struggles of working and studying at the same time to put money aside finally paid off!

It is a brand new apartment building which surprisingly was finished one month before the deadline. I finally got the keys around two weeks ago (also spent the first night there!) and been so busy ordering the kitchen (yikes, expensive stuff), the bathtub (initially there is a shower but i want bathtub + shower combo), bed and curtains. It has been quite hectic since our country (finally) went into lockdown mode and I had to rush on the last day before the lockdown to pick out a sink and faucet for the kitchen. Also why doesn't rosebud cheat work in real life, everything is so damn expensive.

But I am so excited about decorating the whole place. Officially moving in next week on Wednesday (that's when I get internet there).

Here is one image of the very empty living room. So in love with the natural light and the big windows. In the spring/summer it will be so beautiful <3

simblr community challenge

Thank you @cantseemtohide for the tag ❤️ How long have you been playing the Sims? Almost since the beginning. Around 2000-2001. I was 6 or 7 years old and I was at my friend’s place and we were playing probably home or with Barbies or something. I remember her older teen brother at the computer and building houses. I also so vividly remember him typing in the money cheat code - ;!;!;!;!;!;!;.... I was so fascinated by the game. Since my neighbor pirated games (people already pirated games in 2000 :D), I asked him if he could get me Sims. He did and helped me install it and that’s where my obsession began.

How long have you been a simblr and why did you become one? In Dec 2020, my simblr turned 10 years old. Wow it has been a while.  Back then I was playing Sims 3. Still in legacy style but I also made up stories about them. Actually before Tumblr, Wordpress was super popular place to share your stories (and before that Blogspot). So I have always been sharing my gameplays and stories - I just love to be creative, set it up in a nice website where I can navigate around and look back on them. 

In Tumblr I also enjoy just finding inspiration from you guys :)

What type of simblr are you? Hobby legacy player who tries to explore every game pack as fully as possible. So I try to get all of the achievements and do all the stuff that is possible to do in each stuff/game/expansion pack. And just to have fun - if I don’t feel like taking that many “pretty” pictures, then I just don’t. And sometimes I disappear for few months when I don’t feel like playing or I have some other duties. 

Which generation of Sims do you primarily play? Mostly Sims 4. Sometimes I play previous games to have that good nostalgia feeling.

So I am finally back :)

Actually I finally opened my Sims a week ago and just been simming without distractions for a week and it has been amazing! 😍 

But just to note down to my future self as well how the past year has been:

1) Finished my master thesis in August

2) Thought I have now time to play Sims and do anything, but two weeks after the thesis, my supervisor wrote to me and asked if I wanted to help him out with teaching a course in University.

3) Well, I said yes. I have always been wanting to try out teaching but haven’t really had the chance. Furthermore this course is on Android development, which I have been doing as a job for 4.5 years now so I could help by updating the course and also give insight about what it is like to do it as a job. 

4) I LOVED being a teacher. Loved. Cannot wait to do it again next year. Of course it was stressful at times and managing a full time job and teaching a course in uni meant that I had no time for other stuff. But I have plans for next year how to manage it better :) My students were so amazing - so kind, funny and smart. The labs were always a lot of fun. Also it felt good to be a female developer role model 💪

5) While teaching, I was also finally really actively looking for an apartment to buy. I have been saving money and keeping an eye on the market for 3 years now. And in November I bought the apartment! It is in a newly built apartment building which was suppose to be finished in April but they contacted me a week ago that it will be finished in February! So I can start moving in March! So exciting! 💖

6) And now the fall semester is over which means I finally get to do whatever I want and play as much Sims as I want after work. 💖💖💖

7) Speaking of playing - I decided to cancel my photoshop subscription and also just enjoy the game without having the stress to get good pictures of everything. So just play and take a screenshot when I feel like it. And this tumblr has always been me just finding inspiration from you guys and just documenting my gameplay a bit for myself. 💖

I hope you don’t mind me sharing the process of moving in and decorating my empty apartment :) Here is my very luxury bedroom (love the bedside tables, very practical), kitchen and home office.

#random but here is a difference between Estonian (that’s an actual country in northern Europe) and american houses. Estonians are “as few windows as possible and very odd looking house” and american house is just like “So a nice house and how many windows?” - “yes”. Of course both are extreme examples, but that’s generally how it is :D (goes back to a dream of wishing to have an american looking house some day…)
