Hi guys 👋🏻 Yesterday I took part in a discussion about Racial Experiences in the industry hosted by the very cool @tinubellomanicurist of @colourriotnails. This was a two part IGTV which you can watch on her IGTV @tinubellomanicurist 🗣 Tinu gave a platform for artist to share their racial experiences within our industry. Several artists spoke up about their experiences including @awelondon & @nailsbyjmagic! Some artist did not feel comfortable going on the live so Tinu shared their story. Tinu was joined with a huge following of wonderful artists including @nichole_wills @nailsbymets @bangbangnails @cherriesnow @vb_nails @nailedbysg @yasmineelwakil @clawgasmic @funmibellomanicurist @ldoesnails & many others. In this two part IGTV Tinu BRAVELY discusses inequality within our industry in terms of fashion week representation, magazine and editorial publications , the retail sector, large beauty events & even instances with the general public! This took courage! I encourage you to watch these two IGTVs because this issue can not just be a trend that passes. We need to keep up momentum. There is along way to go with systematic racism & social reform.                    THE NAIL INDUSTRY IN BEAUTY WORLD

The nail industry is attaining popularity in today’s world as now the female are concerned not only about their hair and makeup but also are focused that their nails look perfect.

The nail extensions ,the actual term with which you are familiar was not very  common until 2019 in India .But  with the revolution  in internet services and the globalization it is possible that we came across the term nail extensions and now it’s a trend to have their nails done whenever it’s a special occasion whether it be a Birthday Bash or any other function .

Earlier it was seen that only rich strata of the economy was tilted towards nail industry but nowadays everyone whether rich or poor are crazy about getting their nails done .Although nail extension are way too expensive  as it is very time consuming for the nail technician to give perfect nails to the customers. Nail extensions helps to enhance the look of the nails as they look classy and elegant. Therefore, giving a very finished appearance to their hands .

THE NAIL EXTENSION AND ITS TYPES:

i)Full tip nail extensions – these extensions are the most basic ones in which the fake nails are pasted on the original nails with the help of glue .

ii) Acrylic nail extensions – In this type of nail extension a powder which is known as acrylic is used to create a nail with the help of monomer and it is cured in uv lamp to make it hard and unbreakable.

iii) Gel nail extensions – The most common form of nail extensions is gel nail extensions in which a gel is used to form a nail but this process is quite painful for sensitive customers as the gel produces heat when placed in uv lamp.

iv) Polygel nail extensions – Nowadays polygel nail extension have also came into existence as nail technicians were finding ir difficult to handle acrylic or gel product. So the alternate is polygel which is the mixture of both acrylic and gel and make the product quite manageable.

These are the types of nail extensions but Gel nail extensions is the most common one which people prefer in India because they don’t know any other form of extensions and they believe that it is the most convenient one.

Not only the nail extensions but there are thousands of nail art designs including the line nail art ,ombre effect, stone work ,sticker art ,3D art, dot nail art  as well which makes it even more creative.

As the beauty world is an art of creativity  ,nail industry plays a vital role in enhancing the quality and beauty of the nails .

The only thing which concerns me about nail industry is its affordability and it is very expensive for being everyone’s cup of tea but I believe that with the passage of time this problem will also be addressed and there will be related solutions available.

In conclusion ,nail industry is a growing business and is going to have a bright future as female do not even think twice when it comes to the things which will enhance their beauty .

Hard work, determination, keep focus, be nice and you never know what the karma train will bring. It took me 3 years to be able to do a decent set of nails or to be confident in waxing ect, it took a further 7 years to have the guts to push myself more to become a salon owner(with the most mazing staff!) & Educator. So just because you don’t have it right now doesn’t mean you won’t. Victoria's Nails How nice that sounds to me! Someday in the near future I pray to be out in the world owning my own Nail Art Studio & Art School. I love teaching and it's necessary. Art programs in public schools are the first programs cut when budgets are low and I've witnessed poor art programs in schools. Young people and adults need art exposure. Adults grow up and many never really have explored their full artistic capabilities never knowing or exploring the many career possibilities in the arts. I want to help change that. I got licensed to do nails here in NYC because we as chocolate skin people make up less than 5% of the nail industry according to #nailsmagazine. I want to help get the word out to be the nail professionals and explore the many opportunities in the industry. There is millions of dollars in the #nailindustry to be made! More African American women have to get licensed and get in the nail industry sector for more professional dialogue in our community relating to the industry itself, from manufacturing to product sciences, from salon services to nail art programs, high school tech programs need to come back. In Saint Louis I remember girls could get a Cosmetology license in high school tech programs doing half day in school and half day in the practice of the trade they chose! Once I was in high school those programs non longer existed. Now I live in NYC, raised my children and get to follow my artistic endeavors.
