2. Their emotional/moral weak spots
Being guilt-tripped, especially concerning the fact she basically ran from home, leaving her family worried. While she didn’t approve of their customs for her finding a guardian, she still loves them and her heart bleeds a little about what she did. Her stubborness can cover it up most of the time, but not always.
Inadequacy being pointed out. It just happened to be the case that, in the earlier stages of her wizardhood, she wasn’t particularly skilled and didn’t possess the necessary know-how to be out on her own. While she was able to hide it for the most part, she was quite aware of her low skillset and it worried her. Hence being confronted with things she can’t do or is learning slowly, it still stings.
And later of course, her family. Motherhood makes her more determined than she already was.
8. Bad memories/experiences
I’m fairly sure she came close to dying a couple of times while trying to get to DulceDomum. She had been made scared plenty already by her parents, but never having been faced with it, also made the danger somewhat vague and detached. That one time she was captured by Knights, she was sure she was going to die and it did leave her with a mild trauma. It healed overtime and through experience, but it hasn’t left.
Another incident included a miscalculated fire spell that set part of her hair on fire. She had to wear her hair short for a while and she hated it.
11. Bad or petty habits
Stubborn, the inability to admit she is wrong. Aware of her shortcomings, bluff is more often than not a tool Naina uses to one up someone who is critisizing her. She doesn’t like to lose face, and even when she realizes she’s wrong, she has a hard time admitting it and will often give a twist to it so she can have the last word after all.
Also has the habit to sneak food to any animal in sight. This isn’t necessarily bad though.
17. Regrets
She does feel remorse about the way she left her family when she did. She often wonders if maybe she could have persuaded them to make her see reason, so she didn’t have to leave on such awkward terms.
Also mild regrets about refusing an epidural when it was offered.
20. What-ifs/Alternate Timelines
Her life would have turned out quite differently if she hadn’t caught Zhian sneaking into her garden, and she wouldn’t have been able to leave. She would have most likely been stuck in the same situation for a couple more years, until perhaps a guardian came along that was alright. She wouldn’t have been happy about it, but it would have been the only means of leaving she had had. I think it would have affected her, she would be a lot less worldly, and a lot more told to be quiet. She wouldn’t have been as happy as she is today. So it’s a good thing things turned out the way they did.
