never one to leave a fellow oddball behind, as soon as billy had spotted the lost boy, wandering in the woods adjoining his house, a turquoise gloved hand was held out silently to accompany him and lead him towards the warmth. with little more than a softly spoken, “come with me -- it’ll be warmer. ” it isn’t until they’ve walked a few more feet and the house is in sight, his wig threatening to become tangled in each branch the pass, that he asks - “ how did you get here? no one is around at this time of night. when we’re inside you can call someone if you like? ”
curious eyes peer back at the stranger over his shoulder as they walk, “you’ll have to be quiet, my father will kill me if he hears.” then, finally, “oh. i’m billy - billy bloom. a pleasure.” and the bright smile for which the boy used to be known. one that had not been seen for a fair few months now.
