Is it too late for #shelfiesunday? • Still Life of a Heffalump feat. two of my favorite book series from my childhood. • I discovered the Lily Series by #NancyRue when I was about 12, and I read them all obsessively (I think there were 8 out when I started). Lily Robbins is still one of my favorite protagonists, especially because finding her true calling is the entire plot of the series. That's something that's still relatable even as I pass my mid-twenties. • I read #LittleHouseOnThePrairie sometime in elementary school, and just out of frame, these books are about as worn as my books ever get. I really want to go back and read them again. It's been so long. • Recently, I've been wanting to do more contemporary reading. Not contemporary as in stuff about 2017, but as in something about 1890 written in 1890 or about 1927 written in 1927. I want to read more by people as they saw it, rather than how we now imagine them to have seen it. • One of my #bookishgoals is to read the original version of #TheHardyBoys and to compare it to the "updated" version. Even those few years apart, there must have been big enough changes in the culture that they felt the need to edit certain things out. • What about you? What are some of your bookish childhood memories? • #bookstagram #bibliophile #bookspines
