Today's favorite moment is Beau being alone in a stressful situation where he can't get himself to calm down, but remembering a grounding technique he's seen Ryker use when he was having a panic attack and mimicking it.
Ryker never explained that's what it was, but Beau noticed, and that it helped, and then tried it himself 🥺
me reading back what I wrote today and reassuring myself that nano isn’t about talent
nano thrulines: eliada appears halfway thru the book to steal the show & peaces out w/o helping anyone in any way whatsoever
clockin in at 36,870 words, didn't quite reach today's goal but I think it should be taken into consideration that I am........ very tired. thank you. goodnight
Writing check-in
I know, it’s always super exciting when people drop word counts on innocuous writing projects, right? :P BUT for those of you interested, here’s a brief update on things:
Compilations -- Still WIP, but fourth priority
Friends on the Other Side -- 2 chapters in editing phase, still WIP
Mysterious As -- SoRiku oneshot, 50% written, third priority
<REDACTED> -- Secret Santa gift, 55% complete
Culinary Kingdom Hearts Zine -- side project that’s in the works, just debating which additional recipes to include... Will go live in January
I’m technically still behind in NaNo but I usually catch up on the weekends so I’m not all that worried. The next two days are gonna be a little spotty writing-wise, but Friday onwards should be better.
Still trying to finish these WIPs before I start TOKL and SB since those are going to be heavy commitments, both time-wise and emotionally. I’m hoping to finish up the SoRiku this weekend and post it next week (any beta volunteers? loll)
Anyway, nothing super exciting but I wanted to let you all know that I am making stuff, even if my meme reblog-rate has slowed down a lot. XD
Hope y’all are doing well!!
let’s talk about nanowrimo
nanowrimo is officially over now aaaaand *drumroll* i didn’t win!
i have a bit of mixed feelings about that, so i’m just gonna talk about them. you don’t have to read them, so feel free to skip this post.
first of all, it had been so long since i had consistently written fiction. i honestly think the last time i wrote for a long period of time was when i was in high school. and i’m a college graduate. i’m also adjusting to a different type of life, and i think that might have played a part as well.
but i don’t want to make up excuses. i could have perfectly won if i had been consistent with it, but i wasn’t. i had good days, i did manage to write a lot of words most days, but there were also days where i didn’t write a single word. i guess that’s something i’ve struggled with the last couple years and something i want to improve this coming year
so yeah, i didn’t win. i wrote almost 40k words and i’m proud of that, but i still wish i could have gotten my shit together and written the last 10k. we’ll see it’ll go next year
engineering school will have you understanding ppl dropping out of college to become youtubers
