i was planning to do another art post but i havent drawn for a bit and im not really confident + ive been busy studying and preparing to go to pax aus this weekend so i sadly dont have any art prepared for the anniversary (i might see if i can make a late anniversary art post later)
although rubyquest is (and understandably) the more popular quest done by weaver, ive always felt like nanquest was pulled off much better than rq when it comes to its story, characters and art which you can see evolve as nq goes on
to me, nanquest to rubyquest is like the silent hill to resident evil, in which that while rubyquest does give a substanial amount of horror with a mix of gore and action tied up in a neat little story, nanquest has genuine themes, tied together with the worldbuilding set in and around the history of the hotel, and the motivations, backstories and personalities of the characters we meet within nq.
the fact that was managed to be pulled off in an ever changing story pushed by the audience was kind of a miracle and i cant be more grateful for it than how much i am now
i wasnt there to partake in nanquest (same with rubyquest, only became a fan of both in the last few years) but i cannot thank weaver and all of those @ questden who took part in it across the MANY years it went on for
im not the greatest at going on about things for long without spoiling so im gonna wrap it up here BUT if you havent already, PLEASE go read nanquest, either through the official thread archives on questden or on alternate sites such as mspfa or mozai (its a bummer there never was a voice over for nanquest like there was for rubyquest, but maybe one day...🥹🙏)
thats all, happy 15th to nan and all of the hotel residents!!
