The First Kiss
You had spent the entire afternoon nervously waiting for Geralt to return. The last few days he had been away on a contract, only coming back to the clearing where you had set up camp late at night. You would surface from sleep as he lay down behind you, your bedrolls close together to help conserve heat. When you woke the next morning he would be gone, a bowl of food left by the fire for you. It was these small gestures that had done it, making you fall more and more in love with the Witcher.
That morning had been different; Geralt was still in the clearing when you woke up, carefully sorting through his potions before sharpening his silver sword. He was finally ready to finish his hunt, having studied the monster enough to know what it is and have set a trap for it. He had left early that afternoon, wanting to fight the creature at dusk when it was at its weakest. You had been anxious the whole afternoon, pacing the clearing before you finally settled in front of the fire, determined to distract yourself by preparing a stew for dinner.
A twig snapping startled you from your reverie, heavy panting alerting you to another presence in the clearing. You had whirled around, spoon falling from your fingers as you saw Geralt, face pale as he stumbled out of the trees. You were on your feet in a flash, quickly slotting yourself under his arm as you led him to a log he had pulled next to the fire days earlier. You helped him lower himself onto the seat before your nimble fingers were picking at the bindings on his armour, knowing he wanted to relieve himself of the weight after a fight.
“How was the hunt? Are you hurt anywhere?” At his silence, you stilled and looked up to find his golden eyes locked onto your face. “Geralt?”
He seemed to shake himself, eyes losing some of their intensity as his gaze softened. “No, I’m not hurt anywhere, just tired.”
“Good.” You nodded to yourself before continuing with your task, sliding his vambraces from his arms before starting on his leather chest piece. You jumped when his fingers closed over yours, halting your movements. You looked up to see his gaze on you once again, something stirring deep in them. You shifted slightly, a tension falling over the clearing as you met his eyes. One of his hands came up to cup your cheek, you instinctively closing your eyes as you leaned into the touch.
“Y/N…” your name fell from his lips, an almost pleading tone stirring something deep inside of you. Feeling bold, you turned your head to press a gentle kiss against his palm, hearing his breath hitch above you before he tugged you up, setting you on his knee as he pressed his forehead to yours. The hunt must have gone badly, shaken him more than usual. You tried not to hope too hard, you didn’t want to let yourself down if this was as far as he would go. Steeling yourself, you forced the thoughts to the back of your head as you looked at him, brows furrowing at the difference in the Witcher.
“Are you alright, Geralt? Did something happen?” You sucked in a breath as his hand came up once more, his leather gloves having been discarded at some point to allow his bare skin to brush over your cheek. He seemed to hesitate, indecision on his face before he swallowed, a determined air settling over him.
“It was a hard fight, and it made me see things. I may be reaching, but I thought…” he trailed off as he fidgeted, anxiety clear on his face.
“It’s okay, Geralt. You can tell me anything, you know that.” You tried to soothe the large man, never having seen him like this.
“I know, and that’s why- Y/N, I care for you, a lot. More than a- more than-” Your heart melted as he stuttered, a slight blush covering his cheeks. You thought you understood what he was trying to say so you leaned forwards, pressing a chaste kiss to his lips to silence him. As you pulled back, you shifted slightly, a dumbfounded expression apparent on his face. Nervousness grew in you at his lack of response, doubt flaring as you wondered if you misread the situation.
Before you could get too far into your self-doubt, Geralt growled low in his chest, one hand wrapping around your waist as the other tangled itself into his hair. He pulled you towards him, crashing his lips against yours, nipping at your bottom lip. The kiss was desperate, whines falling from your mouth as you chased his, teeth knocking together, breath mingling as you finally got what you had been hoping for. You pulled back, chest heaving as you gasped for air, the Witcher pulling you down to lean against his chest. The hand in your hair loosened, fingers running through the strands in a continuous pattern.
“Was that okay?” Geralt’s tentative voice broke the silence, a smile coming to your lips at the question. You pushed off his chest, your eyes soft as you reached a hand up to cup his face. He nuzzled into your skin, similar to a puppy looking for warmth.
“It was very much okay, you can do that anytime you want.” A laugh broke from your lips before you were cut off as he pressed his lips against yours once more. You wound your hands into his silver strands, eliciting a growl from his as you tugged on them. A strange scent slowly filtered into your consciousness, your nose wrinkling at the bitter smell. You pulled away from him, gasping as you flung yourself off his lap and headed for the fire, a deep laugh rumbling out of Geralt’s chest as he realized what happened.
“The stew!”

When you finally returned to camp, Geralt had disappeared and the other three were sitting quietly by the fire, murmuring amongst themselves. When you had appeared in the treeline, yellow eyes glowing in the light, Ciri had spotted you first. She dropped forwards onto four paws as she trotted towards you, leaning her head down to brush her snout against yours. You hummed low in your chest, pushing back into her. You followed her towards the other two, curling into her side when she flopped to the ground. Jaskier had offered you a sad smile, dropping a hand on your head to rub behind your ears. You leaned into his hand, a silent thanks. Yennefer had made eye contact with you, giving you a small nod, to which you dipped your head in response.
Geralt hadn’t returned by the time Ciri had gone to bed, so you followed the woman back to the tent. Jaskier had lifted you onto her bed when it was clear you weren’t going to change back, Ciri following your lead as she leapt up, curling around you on top of the blankets. You nuzzled into her, warmth enveloping you as you drifted off to sleep. You had remained in your fox form in the morning, Ciri staying with you. As the two of you emerged from the tent, you could see Geralt chopping wood on the other side of the clearing. He started towards you when he saw you before halting as you glared at him, turning away to stay with Ciri. You nudged at the younger woman to lie down, placing yourself at her head as you started licking her, washing behind her ears. She purred, a low sound in her throat, as her eyes closed and she flopped onto her side, allowing you better access.

The winter started out cold and had come far too early for Geralt’s liking. He had ended up staying in the small town he was in for an extra week when his boss had booked him for extra meetings. He had recently been promoted to Project Manager, which had resulted in more work and him having to physically meet with the clients rather than being given the briefing. Not that he minded, he didn’t have anyone to go home to. At least he thought he wouldn’t mind, until the snow came early and blocked the path to his house in the mountains. Normally he would snowshoe or ski up to his winter home once the snow set in, but he hadn’t anticipated the early snowfall and had left them there. He had been planning on making the move this weekend, having just finished renting out his summer home, which he was now regretting.
The town itself was nice, he didn’t mind staying there. He could do some touristy things, there were quite a few small businesses, a university, some schools, along with some museums and galleries. It was a quaint, pretty little place, it would just be lonely.

Of Flowers and Satin
He paced the room, hands tugging on his hair as he fought to keep calm. He was never this nervous, not even when he was fighting monsters. During a fight, he knew the outcome; either he died or the monster died, there wasn’t really another option. It was kind of the same situation here, you would either say yes or you would say no, but unlike a hunt, Geralt would have to live through the rejection.
He knew you loved him, had known that for years, but there was still that underlying shred of doubt that had worked its way into the front of his mind, whispering to him like a devil on his shoulder. She’s too good for you. Are you sure she’s even in love with you, that she ever loved you? This was a poor idea. She’s going to hate it.
He pushed the thoughts to the back of his mind, silently scolding himself at letting them appear in the first place. Of course you would love this, you weren’t going to reject him. You had mentioned marriage before and he had caught you staring at rings when the two of you passed them in the market these last few months. Once his decision was made, once he decided he was going to ask you to marry him, Geralt had employed Jaskier to help make the whole thing perfect. The devious man he was, Jaskier had managed to finagle your idea of the perfect ring out of you as well as your ring size with you none the wiser. He had also helped Geralt set up the room in anticipation of the question.
Glancing around, Geralt let a soft smile come onto his face at the sight of the decorations. The walls had white satin sashes delicately draped over them, flowers decorating the edges of the room. The table was centered in the middle of the space, a light blue cloth covered with all of your favourite dishes and a bottle of wine sitting in a bucket of snow. Geralt had thought this was all over the top but Jaskier had insisted, had told the Witcher to “trust me, you dumb bastard, I know what she’ll like. This is going to make her cry from happiness.”
Geralt relented after that, letting Jaskier run with his idea. The room did look nice and he was pretty sure you’d like it. A gentle knock sounded at the door followed by your sweet voice. With his heart in his mouth, Geralt opened the door, taking a step back to allow you in. You gasped as you saw the room, eyes filling with tears as you gazed at all of the decorations. Geralt could almost hear Jaskier crowing in the background. He relaxed at your reaction, fondness slowly growing in his chest as he watched you move through the room, hands trailing the petals as you went. You squealed when you saw the array of food on the table, excitement filling your eyes. Turning to him, you grasped his hands, wonder clear on your face. “What is all of this for?”
Smiling, Geralt reached up to brush a strand of hair back from your face, leading you to the table before pulling a chair out for you and helping you sit. As he settled across from you, certainty settled over him. Grasping your hand again, he squeezed it as he spoke. “I just wanted to show you how much I loved you, Y/N.”
You flushed at that, eyes dropping as a smile came over your face. “You didn’t have to do all of this. Not for me.”
“I did have to do all of this. Especially for you.” You fell silent at that, blushing even harder as you squeezed his hand in return. Geralt quickly filled your plate, small talk filling the air as you both spoke. The dinner quickly came to an end, the moment he was waiting for fast approaching. As you fell silent, Geralt just gazed at you, taking in all of the features he loved about you. You were it, the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
This thought had him sliding out of his chair to stand beside you, tugging the chair back so he could lower himself to one knee in front of you. You gasped, hands flying to cover your mouth, tears glistening in your eyes as you realized what was happening. Geralt had a moment of panic before you slowly lowered your hands, a smile clear on your face. “Geralt…”
He placed a hand on yours, silencing you as his other reached under the table, finding the little box he had secured there earlier. He released it, opening the lid to reveal the shining gold band Jaskier had helped him pick out. Looking back at you, love filled him, the feeling rushing through his veins.
“Y/N, I had an entire speech planned and memorized, but I forgot it.” he started sheepishly, hand rubbing the back of his neck. This pulled a laugh out of you, the man relaxing at the clear sound. “I love you, more than anything in this world. I can’t give you much, the life of a Witcher is a simple one, but I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you, Y/N, do me the honour of marrying me?”
As he finished speaking, you flung yourself forward as you wrapped your arms around his neck, pressing your lips against his. You pulled back, gazing into his eyes with an adoring expression. When you remained silent, Geralt cocked an eyebrow at you. “I kind of need an answer, love.”
You gasped, a blush covering your face once more. “Yes, yes, yes, of course I will marry you, Geralt of Rivia. I love you.”
Slipping the ring onto your finger, he gave you a moment to admire it before pulling you back against him, hand tangling in your hair as he pressed another kiss against your lips.

Meeting The Class Pet
Geralt had snuck in early, finding a seat towards the back of the classroom. Today was the last day of your class and he wanted to surprise you; he had made reservations for an early dinner and had bought tickets to the new movie you had wanted to go to. You had been so excited at the beginning of the semester, finally getting a teaching position at your university after applying for it for such a long time.
The summer before school started had been spent putting together lessons, creating worksheets, and building powerpoints that would be used in your class. There were many times Geralt had to physically carry you to bed because you had fallen asleep at your desk working late into the night. You would be up and at it in the morning again, determined to make this class as engaging as possible. Your work had paid off it seemed, students often telling you just how much they enjoyed your classes. You would often come home exhausted but full of stories about your students.
Geralt had been drawn out of his reverie as you walked in, greeting the students you walked past. This was one of your bigger classes, having around 150 people in it, but you had still made an effort to learn everyone’s name. You hadn’t gotten everyone, but you knew a good chunk of them and were proud of yourself for it. Geralt was always astounded at your ability to remember names, he looked at the number of people in the room and decided he would be hopelessly outnumbered.
The class grew quiet as you put your powerpoint on the projector, grabbing the remote as you started wandering around the room. That brought a grin to Geralt’s face, you had always complained about how much your feet hurt from standing at the end of the day. When he suggested sitting and teaching you had looked terribly offended, declaring that the mark of a bad teacher; if you were moving around the room you could manage your class better and engage the students at the back of the room as well. He saw now that it worked, the students around him studiously paying attention in case any of them caught your gaze and had a question directed their way.
You still hadn’t seen him, hands waving in the air as you excitedly talked about your research on the subject, passion clear in your face and your voice. Geralt fell in love with you a little bit more, seeing just how invested you were in passing along your knowledge. His cheeks flamed as you told a story about him, the students laughing along; it seemed you often told stories about your relationship, and they just ate it up, loving that you were willing to share things with them. You made your way to his side of the room, eyes searching for a student to pose a question to.
You froze as you spotted him, mouth dropping open a little bit. Murmurs quickly grew in the room, the students not used to seeing you frazzled. You recovered quickly though, a bright smile covering your face as you almost bounced over to him. The people near him seemed to catch on to what was happening as huge grins appeared on their face, you having told enough stories that they recognized the large man seated in one of the tiny seats. Everyone else was confused, before a hush fell over the room as you grabbed his arm and tugged him up.
“Everyone, I’d like you to meet my partner, Geralt! He’s decided to pay us a visit today, apparently.” Chatter burst out of the students, noise filling the room as they realized who he was. You turned to him, face relaxing into a gentle grin. “What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to surprise you in your last class, love. I have dinner reservations and tickets to a movie afterwards, as a celebration.” He felt adoration swell in his chest as your eyes teared up, clearly touched at his gesture. You reached up to press a kiss against his lips, an aww floating through the room.
“I can’t wait, thank you. I’m almost done teaching, and then I’m leaving some time for questions. I’ll meet you in my office afterwards?” Geralt hummed in agreement as he reached out to squeeze your hand before dropping a kiss on the top of your head, much to the delight of your class. He winked at you before turning and leaving the room, feeling pleased at the blush that had covered your cheeks as he headed towards your office.

Summary: Jaskier’s elaborate plan doesn’t go as he wants
Jaskier’s Proposal
He had planned everything down to the exact minute, knew exactly when everything was supposed to happen. Geralt and Yennefer both had their jobs, Roach had been brushed, everything had been set to a t.
Yennefer was to distract you throughout the day, taking you shopping, having lunch together, which would have given Jaskier and Geralt the time to set up the clearing the bard had picked. Jaskier had found ribbons that perfectly matched the colour of your eyes, an old antique table and chairs that had matched the ones in the pub you had met in. He had planned to replicate that room, replicate the night the two of you had met so that he could propose.
In the end, nothing went according to Jaskier’s plan. Geralt had suddenly been called away, one of his brothers activating their distress signal through their medallion, Yennefer had been called back to Aretuza to help with some conflict or another, and Roach had, of course, gone with Geralt. Jaskier had been devastated, his entire evening ruined by the loss of his friends. He couldn’t blame them, of course, they were needed by the separate parties.
You had found Jaskier later that afternoon, having spent the morning running some errands for your business. “What’s wrong, love? You seem down.”
“Oh, nothing,” he had tried to smile, hiding the tears in his eyes. “Just worried about Geralt and Yen, is all.”
You had frowned at that, twisting to look Jaskier in his face. “You’ve never been like this when Geralt or Yen were called on a hunt. No, Jask, what’s really wrong? Please tell me, let me help.”
You sounded so concerned, Jaskier couldn’t keep it from you. He sighed and reached for your hand, pulling you into his side. “I had had a whole evening planned out, I wanted to surprise you with it. Geralt and Yen were supposed to help me, but they had to leave before we could set everything up.”
You nestled into his side, arms wrapping around his middle. “I appreciate the thought, Jask, but don’t feel so bad. We can have just as lovely an evening by ourselves, nothing needs to change.”
He stiffened at your words, “nothing needs to change”. Of course, he was so stupid. It wasn’t the actual motions of the proposal, of how he did it, that he cared about. All he cared about was your answer.
“Jaskier?” you were frowning at him when he refocused on you. “Are you alright?”
A brilliant grin came over his face. “I am more than alright, I’m absolutely fantastic.”
Shifting his body, Jaskier slid off of the seat onto the floor, kneeling in front of you. You gasped as your hands flew to your mouth, tears appearing in your eyes as you clued in to what was happening. Jaskier’s hand dipped into his pocket before emerging with a ring.
“Y/N, the absolute love of my life. Ever since you came into my life, everything has changed. Colours are brighter, tastes are sweeter, feelings are stronger; everything in my life has been made better because of you. Would you do me the greatest honour of my life? Y/N, will you marry me?”
