Duomo di Napoli - Naples Cathedral - AKA Cattedrale di San Gennaro
The neo-Gothic facade was completed in 1898 but it incorporates 15th century portals by Antonio Baboccio. The church was built from 1294 to 1323 on the site of a 6th century cathedral. From the inside, visitors can access the oldest church in Naples, Santa Restituta, founded in the 4th century by Emperor Constantine and built on the site of an ancient Greek temple dedicated to Apollo. Next to that is the late 4th century baptistry of San Giovanni in Fonte, the oldest surviving baptistery from medieval Europe.
