The auditorium is graced by a large crystal chandelier, which measures 16 ft in diameter, and weighs 5,000 lb. When installed, the chandelier contained 240 gas jets, which were converted to electricity in 1900, and rewired in 1957. That same year, it was fitted with an electric-powered winch. It previously required twelve people working four-hours to lower it by hand. The fixture was restored to its original form and missing crystals replaced in 2008.
