Peace. Y'all know I like to start with that. Feelin kinda 'meh' right about now, but I wanna get this word in the air, not only for y'all, but for myself. Sometimes, Slim gotta tell it to his damb self. You ain't always gonna get the props you deserve. You ain't always gonna be looked at as special or a hero or nothing. Sometimes, you just doin your job, man. That cat behind me that kinda looks like me is my Dad. Wordlife, Big Russ or just 'Russell'. You would think someone was painting Slim right there, but that's Pops. Crazy. My Auntie Karen sent me that and blew my mind. That dude was a fireman and paramedic in Gary, Indiana...so, you know he as busy. That dude saved lives. That dude would run into a burning building to save your kids, man. That dude could get the ambulance to your house faster than a mug, get in your house, and start performing life saving procedures on your loved ones so they could continue being here for you to love on. I asked him about it and he always told me he was just doing his job. It was what he was supposed to do. It was what he trained for and became good at, a job, but he was saving lives. I wish I had half his courage, man. There's a lotta y'all that save lives every day in your work in all kinds of jobs, whether you know it or not. I aint talking about just the people like my Dad who run into the burning buildings; talkin bout teachers, doctors, waitresses, lawyers, singers and songwriters, whatever, man. People every day that just put some kinda 'better' into the world save lives every day. I know you're just doing your job, but you deserve your props. Slim gotta give em to ya. Y'all shout me out all the time, let Slim holler at y'all. Thank you all for saving my life and the life of others every day. People really do make the world go 'round. Keep up the great work. Another funky #NaptownSlim production, off the bean, from the heart. #ATFU is the vibe and the crew.
