Kinkan (金柑kumquats) are in season! The skins are smooth and bittersweet! Most are the size a bit larger than a grape and you can just pop the whole fruit in your mouth (skin and all) and chew. (Spit out the seeds!) The kumquats are from a friend’s kumquat tree used an ornamental potted plant to decorate her front door as it is considered good luck. Actually it was good luck for me, since she let me pick all the fruit!
