These pictures might look like scenes fresh out of a movie:
They might look too good to be true but it turns out they are real
About 5000 Indian citizens can now cross the border and get to the Darbar Sahib Gurudwara at Kartarpur which is believed to have been built at the place where Guru Nanak died
This marks a new beginning and heralds a new hope for India-Pakistan relations
The scene at the ceremony was jubilant with Sikhs pouring in from across the globe, many with tear filled eyes ecstatic at being able to visit their holy place which they could only gaze at from across the border
Many couldn’t hold back their tears as the Indian minister of local government, tourism and cultural affairs for the state of Punjab & a former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu thanked the Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan repeatedly for fulfilling the Sikhs’ desire
As an Indian,it was a huge relief to come across positive news after a long time
It is safe to say that PM Imran Khan has expanded his fan base and has gained a huge following from the Sikh community
May the Lord rid us of borders that divide and grant peace and brotherhood among the citizens of these 2 great nations
Well played,Kaptaan!
