LMAO WELL, rheni does canonically have a lil crush on estinien (which is partially bc EYE was sniped by him) and because he is Not slick, estinien has picked up on it but it's not ever something either of them address

they are/would be great combat partners, they get along well (two men who are comfy being quiet around each other), but ☝️ rheni needs a stage 5 clinger because he has ✨abandonment issues✨ like at their core, estinien is much more comfortable working/being alone and rheni Needs to be surrounded by other people so anything that might start between them would End as soon as esti took off again, despite rheni's wild levels of devoted yearning (bc he is also importantly someone who denies himself things constantly lmao)

all of this said though i did almost give them a hookup in dt during raheni breakup 2.0 so who knows

the first song on rheni’s shb playlist is “perfectly alone” by k.flay. there is a huge theme of isolation in early shb (where the fuck are you? where are your friends?) that continues throughout but it’s intensified in rheni’s canon because he’s yoinked to the first pretty soon after his terrible family reunion, where his tribe essentially excommunicates him/he leaves them too. so not only is he alone without the scions, but he is also utterly alone in now lacking a tribal affiliation

i mainly put this song on his playlist for these lyrics:

for the raheni shb playlist, the first song is “the only thing” by sufjan stevens. this is. a very dark song that captures how passively suicidal rheni is the entiretyyyyyy of shb, and how his confusion over whether the exarch is who rheni Thinks he is somewhat compounds that misery :/ man who has been Haunted by the crystal tower for years now forced to be unavoidably close to it while his former not-bf gaslights him about not being his former not-bf!!!

oh god if he's right about something, especially if that means other people were wrong, he can be SO smug with an "i told you so." worst eldest brother behaviour lmao. he's also judgmental as hell if people treat their (or god forbid others') weapons carelessly

what's your oc's biggest fuck up?

in his personal canon, there's a big one i feel like i talk abt all the time but i find it so compelling and also it makes me bananas ALSKDJFLSDKFJSF so: rheni is a gay man (i don't think he labels himself like that but he's exclusively into men) and was. vehemently repressing that when he falls in love for the first time :/ the man he loves kisses him, rheni FREAKS the fuck out and yells at him for it, and then not too long after, the love of his life seals himself away in a tower for the foreseeable future :') he Tries to reconcile right before that happens but never tells him how he feels :') the plot-spoilery answer which is the same for all warriors of light is (enw spoilers for any friends/followers playing)

that he accidentally causes the end of the world 😬 he's not feeling so hot about it!

✨ patron deity - who is your character's patron? does your character actually follow the religion or believe in them? is there a reason you chose that one in particular? what is their relationship with that particular member of the twelve?

rheni's patron is azeyma! he does believe in her, but i don't know the extent to which he practices his faith tbh; i need to think about that when i ng+ everything sdlkfjsdlf anyway i chose azeyma for him bc she's the main deity that seekers of the sun miqo'te worship! he held fast to his faith esp when he first left his tribe for gridania and was all alone in a new place :')

🎨 design - what are some of your favorite parts of your character's design? has it changed significantly over the course of their journey? what do you love most (or least) about them?

i think he's the most beautiful man ever but i esp love his beautiful hair!!!! it's thick and glossy and pitch black and has Weight to it for straight hair. but i also cherish his nose and his eyes <3 in my mind, he is broader and thicker than he is in game since all miqo dudes look a little waifish; that man is a tank, he has a strong core lmao. i love that he is essentially out of fashion for so many implied seeker/miqo trends (he wears his hair long, he prefers heavy armour over light clothing, and in my personal hc he is somewhat pale for seeker beauty standards) his design hasn't changed drastically at all tbh like i've given him diff hair styles that logically follow a progression of time/emotion, i took off his facepaint that he started with because that Meant Something at the time which he no longer claims (i.e. nunh status in his tribe), added a small scar on his chin, and gave him a nose tattoo. he is still very recognisable as his initial incarnation imo!

what does your oc lie about?

i'll answer for winter since i'm constantly talking about mack's ugly traits asldkfjsldkfjlsdkfj winter lies about. almost everything :| her greatest hits include: lying about her feelings, lying about her needs, lying about her boundaries, lying about her relationship with her mother, and!!!!! lying about the fact that she lies!!!! she would be aghast if anyone confronted her about this or called her a liar (WHICH SHE IS). the one group of people she refuses to lie to are her social work clients; she manages to be kind and gentle when delivering horrific news, but refuses to risk hurting anyone further by misleading them in a misguided act of kindness (which she learned the hard way by doing that at the start of her career). so on some level, she understands that lying can be damaging, but we love a WASP's ability to compartmentalise lmao

i don't think so! i read all the releases that came out that i wanted to, and otherwise i'm just working through a pile of books i own :)

17. did any books surprise you with how good they were?

i read a TON of good books this year but both of isabel cañas's books--the hacienda and vampires of el norte--knocked me OUT. everyone should read her imo!!
