Naruto 476-477 ( thoughts and a kind of little tribute to naruto series as a whole really 😁)

Wow how bloody good was the final showdown of naruto vs sasuke in latest shippuden (episodes 476 and 477. So many “feels” ( annoying as that saying can be lol) . Don’t normally write my thoughts online but I’ve been watching naruto for almost 10 years now I think? I can’t remember exactly but point is long enough that its been with me a long time and means a lot to me. Even as I’ve got older its something that I’ve always enjoyed almost as much as when I first started watching.

Anyway literally just finished watching the latest episodes a few moments ago and need to get my feelings out lol. Series finally got to what everyone’s been waiting literally years for now and it didn’t disappoint. I was a bit worried that when they inevitably did get to fighting again it would be kind of half assed or over very quickly and we wouldn’t get to see a proper fight between them. Especially as I was a bit disappointed with the fights in the end of the Ninja war. We never got a real proper one on one with sasuke and madara or naruto and madara really. I was still fairly pleased with the last battles but there wasnt enough one on one fights, or tactical well choreographed fights for my liking. I think the best was probably kakashi and obito actually (so well animated also).

Which also brings me onto another reason I was worried about the final fight with sasuke and naruto as the animation quality for the last arc has been really patchy and poor In places which has been really irritating. The final battle isn’t the time to start doing filler level stuff. We went from this amazing movie quality fight animation with kakshi vs obito to a lot of really poorly drawn stuff sometimes I thought throughout the rest of the fights.

But thankfully they went all out again with the animation quality for the naruto vs sasuke fight. Truly epic battle with amazing choreography and animation, and I think all the emotional story notes and impact were handled just right. Something about naruto and the focus on bonds just gets me emotionally, and I’m so glad that feeling was there and handled so well in their fight. Was really just engrossed watching it, it was like everything id been waiting for and more, they really took the fight to another level and grittiness rarely seen in the series (even knocked a tooth out at one point).

And the quality of the animation just made every punch and jutsu feel so real and epic. Really got that childish awe I had as a teenager when watching naruto for first time, or the kind of “epic anime fight” feeling that I’d get watching dbz as a kid. Where you want to go be those characters and have those abilities so badly because its just so cool to you. Was really nice to have that level of feeling again . It something that’s harder to feel the older I get ,so feeling that again moved me enough to write this big nerdy rant lol.

The only thing I was slightly disappointed by is I would of liked to have seen a bit more tactical parts of the battle , like stuff sasuke is known for, where you get his inner voice analyzing the battle. But too Much of that would’ve taken the impact of the battle away and slowed it down so I understand them not doing it also. I think just one or two moments would have been nice though but a minor criticism. There certainly was some cool tactical moments though, especially thought sasuke summoning ninja stars out of his arm as a last resort was a really cool touch and it went by so fast could easily of missed it.

Anyway just really wanted to get my feelings down about it , as its one of those moments that are quite special. It might just be a cartoon but its something that’s been with me such a long time I have a quite a large emotional attachment to the characters and series as a whole so its just nice to share these feeling with other Fans who hopefully feel similar too.

I’ll be really quite sad to see the series end soon but I’m really glad to have had so many years of enjoyment from it. Its really influenced me hugely artistically speaking aswell in so many subtle ways , I can directly see and feel its influence a lot in my design aesthetic and subjects that interest me.

Guess this ended up being a kind of little tribute to naruto really as well as review, but fitting as its almost finished now. Def gonna try my best to make some really good fanart of it in the future and give it the send off it deserves.

For those who have no interest in naruto sorry for the long geek out lol, but hey you probably stopped reading ages ago 😁
