The show did dirty of Arya regarding her training with faceless men. It's not a cool girlboss magic that Arya learnt in house of black and white. It's really traumatic in books and some kind of dark magic involved. Where do you think about Arya arc with Faceless men in books going?

Ya, I think one thing the show does really badly is set the atmosphere because they don't want you to pick up on the red flags, they want to take you by surprise. So rather then set a creepy atmosphere while Arya is in Braavos, it just kinda....looks exactly like King's Landing but more port focused. You don't really think "huh something is maybe a bit wrong here" until the Lady Crane story line, which is when Arya is leaving. It's obnoxious.

As for where Arya is going re: FM........I do think it's not unlikely Arya is leaving Braavos very soon. For a long time, I think I just imagined her still stuck there until the end of TWOW but after the reread, and of course this section here-

“Walk?” His fingers were slick with blood. “Are you blind, girl? I’m bleeding like a stuck pig. I can’t walk on this.” “Well,” she said, “I don’t know how you’ll get there, then.” “You’ll need to carry me.” See? thought Mercy. You know your line, and so do I. “Think so?” asked Arya, sweetly. Raff the Sweetling looked up sharply as the long thin blade came sliding from her sleeve. She slipped it through his throat beneath the chin, twisted, and ripped it back out sideways with a single smooth slash. A fine red rain followed, and in his eyes the light went out. “Valar morghulis,” Arya whispered, but Raff was dead and did not hear. She sniffed. I should have helped him down the steps before I killed him. Now I’ll need to drag him all the way to the canal and roll him in. The eels would do the rest. “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy,” she sang sadly. A foolish, giddy girl she’d been, but good hearted. She would miss her, and she would miss Daena and the Snapper and the rest, even Izembaro and Bobono. This would make trouble for the Sealord and the envoy with the chicken on his chest, she did not doubt. She would think about that later, though. Just now, there was no time. I had best run. Mercy still had some lines to say, her first lines and her last, and Izembaro would have her pretty little empty head if she were late for her own rape.

Where Arya all of a sudden breaks from the "mercy" character to reclaim her name, which really heavily parallels Sansa's own name reclaiming moment, where Sansa refers to herself as Sansa instead of Alayne for the only time in her Alayne chapters (because note, even when Myranda drops the "Jon is LC" news, Sansa does not think her name!)-

"Ser Sweetrobin," Lord Robert said, and Alayne knew that she dare not wait for Mya to return. She helped the boy dismount, and hand in hand they walked out onto the bare stone saddle, their cloaks snapping and flapping behind them. All around was empty air and sky, the ground falling away sharply to either side. There was ice underfoot, and broken stones just waiting to turn an ankle, and the wind was howling fiercely. It sounds like a wolf, thought Sansa. A ghost wolf, big as mountains.

Anyways all of this makes me feel like something is going to sideways at the play, or just after, and Arya is going to be in some deep trouble, and makes plans to skip town. I also think, similar to Sansa probably using the tools she's been taught but to protect herself rather to hurt others, I think Arya is likely to use what she learns from the FM as protection.

But the same way I refuse to commit to a path for anyone else, I refuse to commit to a path for Arya. I can't say definitively. A few notes on Arya in Braavos-

the slave ship of wildlings docking in Braavos is something she takes notice of

the sealord dying/the new sealord fight is talked about a lot in her chapters

she knows the current black pearl who is involved with the sea lord

she has (potentially) met Tysha

illyrio has some potential ties to braavos - he is canonicly a bravo (which, he could have picked up water dancing from a braavosi since pentos & braavos are very involved, but he also could be braavosi - afaik, we aren't told) & he's very involved in trade between pentos & braavos and essosi politics. with the sealord dying it is possible that he's on the move to braavos and arya knows his face & that he was plotting on her father

possibly she figures things out with the sealord in a way that helps the FM/hinders illyrio before she dips (i've long wondered if perhaps she asks a boon before she leaves & arrives with a few ships, including the one with the wildlings - kind of a nymeria & her ships thing). i don't really think show wise that she would be allowed to piss them off the way she does & just walk out - like they're gonna say something to her at the very least, right? or if she goes right from the show to get needle.....surely they'd send someone after her? so i don't think she's leaving straight from the show - she needs to have at least one more confrontation within braavos before she's heading home. at least one more chapter besides mercy in braavos. but she could do a lot within that chapter to cement her return. imo, if it does shake out that she gets involved with the sealord, and is granted some sort of boon that includes liberating the wildling slave ship, i think the FM might be more willing to let her go because she's liberating a slave ship. but i also feel like....they're just going to get a little shitty with her first. i can't imagine the FM have survived this long as a secret society by just letting their lil interns walk away without consequence!
