Today's my birthday, so I've thought of some ideas.
- A whumpee who's lost track of time, stuck in a room with no windows. Every so often, though, after a long while of not hearing it, their whumper whispers 'happy birthday'
- One day, the whumper is being extra kind, extra careful, and just all-around better towards the whumpee. All day, the whumpee is terrified of what might happen once the whumper snaps out of it. But after dinner, when they usually get beaten, they are handed a slice of cake with a candle
- The whumper beats the whumpee extra hard today, as a celebration of another year still alive, and still underneath their thumb
- Alone and isolated, a very tired whumpee curls into the corner, and when everyone else is asleep, quietly sings happy birthday to themself
