“Hey- don’t turn around!” Chloe said as she snuck into Nat’s dressing room right before the wedding started, covering her hands over her eyes as she did. “I know it’s bad luck to see the bride before the wedding. I do. So, that’s why I’m not peakin’ and neither should you. But, I just, I needed to talk to you. I love you, Natalia Burgess. More than the world could ever know. And I know I haven’t really been feelin’ myself since that night in the warehouse and I’ve just tried to brush it off by dyin’ my hair and joinin’ a gang and tryin’ smile and pretend that everythin’ was fine. Cause that’s what I do, right? I put on a happy face and welcome you to my ‘crib’ which is really just my beat up old car I’ve been livin’ in? But, I wasn’t fine. I was far from it. I’m scared? I used to never be scared of anything. I was so sure. I was sure about us. About Canada. About my job. About drivin’ through hoops of fire. I was naive as hell and I was bold. But, now, I’m terrified. I’m terrified about what the future holds. About what might happen to ruin this? To take you away from me? I’m terrified about getting hurt again? Or kidnapped or realizin’ everything I ever knew about my life? About my dad was is a lie? I just- I’m scared. And I think I’ve been taken my fear out on you. And I’m sorry for that. Cause you don’t deserve that. And I just- before we go out there, I just wanted to hear you voice. And to let you know that no matter how freaked out I am right now? No matter how much I want that naive and innocent bunny I used to be back? Despite all the fears, the one thing I’m sure of is you. So, if you want me to be a Burgess, I’ll be a Burgess. And if you want to be a Riley, then we’ll be Riley’s. Or will be Burgess-Riley or Burgess-Riley-Samuels no matter how stupid that sounds. Cause, I just want you. And I’m nervous excited to be able to walk down the aisle and see you in whatever dress or suit you’re wearing and spend the rest of my life with you. And I just can’t wait to be Mrs. Insert Last Name Here and tear up when I finally get to see you for real. Rambling mess of speech over.”
