“You’ve got to be joking!” Ryan laughed as him Jake and Y/N climbed the stairs to Jake’s apartment, Jake and Y/N hand-in-hand.

“No, Ry, you’re making literally no sense,” Y/N argued, exchanging an amused look with Jake.

“No, it’s you two that aren’t talking sense,” Ryan scoffed. “You’re seriously telling me that you don’t see how similar Jake here looks to pretty much all of his friends?” 

“Ryan you’re chatting shit,” Jake rolled his eyes.

“You’ve got to be kidding!” Ryan laughed in utter amazement.

“Which friends are you talking about? Because I guess I can see him and Seb looking kind of similar?” Y/N offered unsurely.

“Well yeah, sure, Seb too. But I was referring to the people who are his exact twin,” Ryan responded as they began to walk down the hallway to Jake’s apartment.

“Who the fuck are you talking about?” Jake asked. “And I don’t look like Seb,” he added, side-eyeing Y/N.

“Babe, it’s a compliment,” she tried to assure him and Jake opened his mouth to argue with her but Ryan cut him off.

“Well I mean David, for one-”

“Which David?”

“Both!” Ryan inputted.

“But Loki and Dave look completely different?” Y/N questioned, wrinkling her nose.

“Okay now you’re taking the piss,” Ryan said, shaking his head.

Jake put his keys in the lock and turned it, rolling his eyes at his friend.

“This is the weirdest thing you’ve ever told me, Ryan, and you’ve told me some weird shit,” Jake informed him, pushing the door open and tossing his keys onto the table.

“What’s Ryan saying?” David asked, walking through the hallway into the living room.

“That we look similar.”

“You and Ryan?”

“No - me and you. And Loki for that matter,” Jake explained. David turned around and frowned at Ryan.

“Are you mad? We look completely different - Rory’s over by the way,” David added, moving properly into the living room.

“Oh I love Rory!” Y/N beamed, tugging on Jake’s hand, who laughed and followed her into the living room. “I didn’t realise you were back!” She told him, hugging the engineering student.

“How’ve you been?” Rory asked, smiling at his friend.

“Holy shit!” Jake exclaimed, his eyes wide.

“What?” Rory asked, raising his eyebrows.

“You and - you and Ryan! You’re literally fucking identical!” David’s eyes widened as he looked between Ryan and Rory.

“Fuck, you’re right!”

Rory and Ryan looked at each other, amusement written over their faces.

“You better be fucking joking.”

*put on tinfoil hat* People don't realize the impact Jamie Randall has on Jake's career. We later see his sale rep performance in Nightcrawler, and 2 years later, Jake reprised Jamie's line: "You have beautiful eyes" at a diner's table with his love interest in Nocturnal Animals. And I tell you Quentin Beck is literally Jamie because Love and Other Drugs is set in 1996, and instead of becoming a doctor, he became Stark Industry's employee.

Does each roommates group have their own house rules? Like Jake and the Davids will have a different set of house rule than Donnie and Louis? Robert/Ennis and Colter/Jeff are probably quite relaxed about theirs? Jamie and Edward have rules that mostly apply to Jamie? Morf & Quentin's house rules are just down right ridiculous and petty?

lol I wrote up house rules for some of them so this is the first part of the JGCU House Rules, I’ll do the rest of them some other time on a different post if someone requests haha

Loki, David and Jake

1) Family dinner at least once a week, taking turns cooking

2) Loki can’t only eat bakery food every day and must have at least one real meal per day

3) David has to tell us when he has a panic attack and say if he feels anxious so that we can help

4) Jake has to update us regularly on the Y/N situation Jake and Y/N must not have sex during the day

5) David and Loki have to get at least some sleep every night (I’ll know!)

6) Loki needs to stop threatening Lou’s life

7) Loki and David need to stop consuming unhealthy amounts of coffee

8) Jake needs to stop hiding the coffee

9) Jamie needs to stop bringing his one night stands here “just because it’s closer”

Morf and Quentin

1) Morf is no longer allowed to talk to girls that Quentin likes as he will criticise her clothes

2) Quentin has to stop telling said girls that Morf has “issues”

5) Jamie needs to take his one nights stands to Jamie’s room rather than Quentin’s

1) Jamie must not walk around naked with others at home

3) Jamie must stop watching Bake Off the day before Edward when Edward has a late lecture that night so that he can use it as blackmail

4) Jamie must get rid of his own one-night stands before going to lectures

5) Jamie must close the door when he is with a one night stand

6) Jamie must never take his one night stand into Edward’s room “for a change of scenery”

7) Jamie is limited to playing the Avenger’s theme when he walks into a room to ten times a week

I think I've said it before that "reader" felt like an original character on her own rather than a vessel for the audience to project themselves (well, she's referred to in third person so she isn't a "reader"), although she remained nameless. But she is a damn fine OC, as in, the way you wrote her is extremely real and human. I remember getting very anxious reading about her reactions to the Dovers and the Birchs. The words killed me a little if that make sense.

Man I know I probably shouldn’t because they are meant to be ‘readers’ but when I’m writing series especially I like to give them a personality and give them traits that the reader themselves may not have and the BAB reader is one of my favourite people/characters whatever you want to call it that I’ve ever written so I’m glad that you loved her as well
